I don't want to ruin the surprise, but it's GTA 5 NextGen Edition, to be released on PC, Sony's PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft.

With a 20 page article? That's probably longer than the actual game will be.

"Everything that went wrong with the development of The Last Guardian summarized in only 20 pages"

I chuckled. Nicely done, sir.

I'd accept that with open arms.

But it's unlikely.

Makes sense, actually. Although I thought they'd port the complete edition on next-gen systems, with the yet to be released story DLC's. But this makes sense.

I can confirm.

There´s also a first look at half Life 3 and it comes with a free copy of The Last Guardian.

It's not a hyped reveal and it's 20 pages so it's most likely an already announced game coming out within six months. My money is on Watch Dogs.

it going to be another third party game of some importance. but maybe not something thats announced. my guess..

-EA Visceral's Battlefield game thats due out this fall.
-Activision unannounced IP's
-Ubisoft's Watch_Dogs re-branding

EDIT: maybe Rocksteady's new game? its been several years.

Do you mean Evolve from Turtle Rock? Hardly.

It's the lowest point I can remember at least. It's like they tried to find the least impressive and ambitious title the industry was currently working on. I know not every cover can be a home run but damn it doesn't have to be that bad either. Must have been a really slow month last month.

I was thinking Watch Dogs too, showing off what they changed, why it was needed etc. Then again, I have to think about them saying they wouldn't focus on big AAA cover reveals anymore, but on the unknown... the "surprises"... the "sleeper hits".

So far (since they said that) all of their covers have been new games and not exactly AAA.

But yeah, Watch Dogs could help with the end of Ubisofts fiscal call coming up etc.

How does a 20 page story make sense for a game that's basically ubiquitous at this point, that GI themselves already reviewed? What, is it a half-page blurb and 19 and 1/2 pages of screenshots?

I disagree, I thought it looked pretty cool.

Yeah, GI has really been stepping out of their comfort zone with those shooter and licensed game covers.

What about Valve in general and SteamBox, Controller, OS, etc?!

I think that would have been more appropriate for Jan or Feb during/after CES and SDD.

Atm I'd expect a general Steam Universe coverage around the launch when things get ready for prime time (SteamOS and controller mainly), if there's going to be a coverage at all.

But your guess is not impossible though....

Sorry, the 20 pages kinda slipped my mind for a second, d'ohhh.

Okay, it isn't GTA V. Then it's the renamed Watch Dogs, or a new Assassin's Creed. I can't think of anything else that's big enough for 20 pages, considering the fact that other games already had their coverage or games that aren't officially announced yet (Fallout 4, Zelda U, and what not).

I think they meant they will focus on smaller titles more often but it's not like a AAA title will never get the cover again.

If it is watch dogs GAF owes us both cookies.

It was just a guess coming from the "20 pages".
I just can't imagine an article with 20 pages about one single game (not that certain games wouldn't justify it..).

I'm eager to know more about Bad Company 3. Can't wait. But it doesn't seem likely considering BF4 is still a mess and announcing a new one with a lot of fanfare would be illadvised.

The only thing to save it would be to ditch dirtbikes and bring back golfcarts!

Yeah, it's a cool concept, it's apparently addictive as fuck according to those who played it and Turtle Rock has an excellent track record. I predict this will end up on quite a few GotY lists at the end of the year. Quote me on it.

I thought it was one of the more interesting articles in quite some time. Not in the least because it was a new IP we didn't know that much about and which is actually a bit different from the usual stuff.

But hey, it's Derrick. If it isn't a bug-riddled Obsidian RPG it's automatically uninteresting.

You are focusing too much on it being a single game reveal. Maybe it's a bigger story like a VR special or upcoming next gen games or a review of the last generation.

Roughly 6300 seconds - give or take a few seconds. I'm not kidding.

But you were kidding before the edit, right? ;)

Yeah you're right, that's possible too. Although a review of last generation would be kind of sucky considering the tease. It wouldn't be much worth the tease if you ask me

Pretty sure you just have a bunch if generic complaints saved in note pad to be copy and pasted into every.last.thread.
