Game Informer: March Cover - Zelda BotW

media blackout here I come. I shouldn't have read
Wind Blight Ganon
. Don't know what that is, but I will find out in March. Peace out

Anxious about the dungeons mention. I really hope they're not like the dungeons in the other 3D Zelda games and more like the dungeons in Skyrim. Or just slightly bigger of the micro dungeons that were available in the demos.

Last thing I want is for more hours long dungeons that kills my enjoyment of Zelda games. I was so down for the 100s of micro dungeons :/

Just hope the regular dungeons are short and sweet!

I hope this is sarcasm

Oh fuck yes. I hope that's consistent throughout the bosses. Elemental, no weird random Monsters Inc. Kraken nonsense. Offshoots of
Ganon
, yes. Yes.

Yes.

This is making me want to leave GAF and the Internet until I clear this game...the excitement and surprises feel like they shouldn't be spoilt.

I'm thinking of just being on the internet less with the Switch and just enjoying Gaming again when it comes out. Been too long since I avoided the internet.

I'm glad that you're going to be disappointed.

It comes off as Zelda an Link may be more than friends in this version. Is everyone ok with that?

EXCUSE ME?

Doesn't skyward sword already do that?
never finished it.

Skyward Sword never made it past giving them a lame shallow "they like each other just because" relationship. They didn't even hold hands, they just looked at each other longingly.

I want them to have a realistic, romantic relationship here that hopefully goes past the point of "heehee we acknowledge that we like each other".

LIKE WHAT IF SHE'S ACTUALLY PREGGO FOR REAL IN THAT PIC

jk / kinda not jk

I haven't been this excited for a game since TP came out

Guys i think dungeons are confirmed.

(Spoiler for something said in the video in the OP)
I think in the video they said the completed one dungeon, so that's a good point. Perhaps that is confirmation on "real" dungeons being in the game.

What is this, why would you say this

That's interesting, considering I've played every major Zelda game in existence except for one of the Oracle games and Spirit Tracks and enjoyed a good number of the games hmmmmm

I don't like Zelda's approach to dungeon design post Zelda II, excluding Triforce Heroes. I was hoping that BotW's adherence to Zelda 1's design and Skyrim inspiration would mean dungeons that aren't primarily puzzle focused and more combat focused. There is more to Zelda than just dungeons, so here's hoping that even if I hate the dungeon design, there is much to enjoy outside of it, which considering I've played it I know is a certainty!

Not the first, nor the last time I'll hear that! I am glad that there are differing opinions, though, because that makes for great conversation!

Your opinion here is fascinating! Given that the Zelda "formula" was cemented with ALttP and LA, due to the success of those titles, it's interesting to hear someone say that they're more interested in combat centered gameplay (which was a Zelda II focus that was widely unpopular). There was still a lot of puzzle solving in the first game, the puzzles themselves just weren't that difficult, but then that was at the dawn of modern game design.

Respect.

I personally enjoyed the linearity of TP, but that's not something most Zelda fans would agree with. It's action-adventure, and they've pretty much defined the boundaries of the genre itself with all of the experimentation with just this franchise, and that's exciting in and of itself.
