No ARG, no Half-Life 3. I expect Valve to continue their relationship with Game Informer, but much like Blizzard and Rockstar they've got their own top tier marketing department that engages with the fans like no other. Essentially the build up to a Valve announcement is an experience itself, if recent events are to go by.

And, to do a bit of damage control, are they really hyping this up all that much? All I'm reading is that they're calling it surprising. Surprising =/= best game of all time, most anticipated, or even a good game. It just means the announcement itself is surprising and unexpected. It could be a sequel/reboot of a niche game/franchise from a generation or two ago that many wont care about, but as long as it is unexpected it can be credited as surprising, which seems to be the only factor they're pushing.

I love Valve, but no more ARG's please :/

ya i've been telling ppl to bring down their expectation we have to realize this is game informer and not something like gdc/e3/gamecom
