I wouldn't come down on him too hard.
The Wii U is only the second worst disaster in Nintendo's history. Splitting hairs at that point, really.
I see it as an off hand mention of some of the port issues that have plagued Wii U games. So the Xbox 360 and or the PS3 are more high definition than the Wii U?
The video seems more focused on entertainment than accuracy.
What about their love hotels?![]()
I love his videos, but this one seems a bit forced. Like he was trying a bit too hard to make the VB and Wii U similar by pointing out some of the obvious similarities while leaving out some of the ones that show the Wii U in a better light.
No one's going to have a yazuka-induced "car accident" over it, either.
You guys didn't watch the video, huh?
Well, at least the Wii U doesn't make my head hurt.
As a gaming product it was pretty cool actually... It enveloped you in a cool stereoscopic 3D world, really cool stereo sound chip (like a Game Boy on steroids). It's really fun to play around with one now.
As a marketable product, yes, it was horrible.

Just goes more in detail, and criticizes third parties a bit.I'm halfway through but the dudes voice is grating me. Does it have some kind of surprise at the end or something?

Two out of three ain't bad?Virtual Boy failed because it was impractical, gimmicky, and had no games.
Phew, I made it through. Dude sounds like somebody trying to sell something on an infomercial ugh. I was curious what made you think others hadn't watched it?

edit
It was the knee jerk early reactions, plus the fact that they responded quicker than they could have seen the video.
That is silly.Game Theory's argument in a nutshell, if you don't want to watch the video:

I bet Iwata wishes he could say the same thing.Well, at least the Wii U doesn't make my head hurt.
People comparing WiiU to Virtual Boy, in any capacity, were clearly not around when the Virtual Boy was. I don't even think the 32X failed to resonate with customers as spectacularly as the VB did.
Do people actually believe this.No one's going to have a yazuka-induced "car accident" over it, either.

His voice sounds perpetually sarcastic.
So it's just like every other Nintendo-based argument, then. This is what happens when your start with a conclusion, then try to come up with reasons to back it up afterwards.
I wonder if Nintendo has any patent about 'wearable 3D headset' cause of the Virtual Boy given the super rise of similar (but way better execution of course) products now it kind of made me wonder if they did.
Would nintendo dream of reviving a Virtual Boy like project in the future if Occulus Rift and Sony's VR tech take off?...All this makes me miss Gunpei Yokoi.
I owned a Virtual Boy. Got it new for $20 in a bargain bin many years ago. It was crap. Interesting crap for $20, but crap. Wii U isn't crap, but it has its own very different challenges.
