It's been 8 years since I and -BLITZ- started this thing? Damn, time flies.

So, what's up with the thread, eh? Well, I guess it comes down to a few things:

1) I really don't see a lot of interest in the thread from people here anymore, not to mention that nobody is requesting anything from what was already posted and which is not easily accessible for reasons. Don't know why, but I guess nobody cares...? I mean not just a few users, I still remember the days when artwork threads were pretty crowded and there was a lot of interest.

2) I really don't want to give up everything I've collected for people to then put it behind paywall on Patreon or whatever like this site is doing for example - https://www.creativeuncut.com/ (maybe there's more I don't know about). There's no way I'm going to give them free stuff so that they could get money for something they don't even have the right to sell in the first place, which makes me wonder how they are still alive.

3) I just can't share a lot of the stuff I have cuz of reasons I can't discuss, which means that a lot of arts will never see the light of the day on NeoGAFs pages. That's just the sad truth.

4) Storing arts online in the cloud costs money, but thanks to someone here I won't name, I sort of fixed that problem but Idk for how long. Google Drive is the best option cuz nobody will ever delete anything you have in the cloud unless you're not using your account for years.

5) Storing arts locally also costs money, which is okay if I'm doing it for myself, but even that is not that easy anymore cuz of the goddamn fascist Putin and his regime, not to mention that I have to give up free space on my HDD for backups and there's a lot of arts I've posted here over the past ~15 years.

I mean, Idk what -BLITZ- has to say in regards to why he's also not posting anything, but that's why I didn't. Here's the thing, it's not like I don't have something I can post, far from it, but it doesn't look like most of the people who once visited artwork threads, posted and shared something as well care about any of it anymore. So, why keep posting if nobody really cares? Why keep posting if literally nobody requests anything (again, not 1 or 2 people (if even that), that just doesn't count)? Nobody's even asking if we have something and can we share it or not.

Feel free to correct me on this if I'm wrong, but that's just the way I see it

Well, no more direct links to archives here, all you have to do folks is to PM me (exc;uding newly registered members and members that barely post and do anything on GAF), I'll give you the link to G Drive and after that you'll just check (by date of upload) for the new stuff there when I'll post an update here with previews. So, no more multiple requests etc. via PM, you just do it one time, get the link and you're good to go for the foreseeable future

That's a really cool approach. I was on this thread a few times with my previous account that got banned during the division between here and the Era page. But I vividly remember those big ass images used for advertisement on E3. And some very cool findings, like tales of arts without logos. Best thread that kept me coming back here

This is a special case for me: I searched for years for this high-resolution image of one of my all-time favorite games: Street Fighter. However, I could only find fragments of scanned images online. So I took the time to collect them, join them together, did some restoration and color corrections, and well... here I share the result of my entire process:

Hello fellow gaffers.

I'm returning fresh and strong.

To ensure that the assets are not reported and deleted for whatever medieval reasons in 2026 I will include a link in my profile to the entire database for all members; it will be easy to access, organized by title, with each artwork individually separated for download, and in JPEG format for obvious storage reasons. I will re-upload all I have on my PC (old and new) during the next week. It's somewhere about 50GB. I'm going with Google Drive because their 200GB plan is only 3 euros per month, and this is on me. It's too cheap not to take the deal. I will also continue to provide thumbnail previews of new artworks as I find them from now on and their measurements.

I wish I could make it public, but all of the assets and accounts were later wiped, so I'm too "old" to go through this again, so I will so I will use this method for the beginning and see how things go. Also, if anyone tries to publicly post the link, the account will tell me via the history activity, and I have a personal approach to track it. I mean, the link can be shared, which I don't mind, but the only favor I have is to keep it to close friends; after all, I'm spending my personal time to keeping it active.

The progress work is proceeding successfully so far. A lot to catch up and recovering from my own database.

Series will be packed into a single folder and labeled with a sunny orange color.
Artworks will have from now on attached at the end NO_LOGO (for clean, no logos), ALTERNATIVE (depending on their numerous variants), and NO_EFFECT (a clean version of the artworks if they have multiple layers attached for effects). This will help the artworks maintain structure in their folders.

Sneak peak: I think Google does a really good job. To me it doesn't lag and it has multiple preview options for thumbs.

It is a lengthy process, kudos to your effort. Do you feel doing this a bit relaxing in anyway? Whenever I go through sorting of various photos and videos collection, I find it a bit relaxing myself.

Progress made so far; I have finished the tall batch of DVDs and a small one. 77 in total at this point. I haven't upload them yet on G-Drive. I still need to sort them out.
New rule for me; I will keep the signatures left by the authors over any art from now on. I used to disable this layer because I wanted the "cleanest" version to share, but not anymore, since it feels like erasing the author identity, therefore PM me for a non-signature version is not going to happen.

I also did a verification with Hard Disk Sentinel on any of my drives and if I'm lucky with their care, they will continue to be in top shape condition. So far, they are all healthy.

Bringing the update; so, I managed to go through all the DVDs. It was really an interesting journey to go through them for the second time and that was 6 years ago. I can't believe how easy it was to remember what everything I have. I only came across a few keyarts that I tried to remember where I managed to get them from and I'm a bit vague.Now I need to check my two external hard drives, and compare them to the JPG files I created. I know I have new stuff on both where I continued without storing them on DVDs but it's much easier to navigate now. Then I need to sort it out. I'm already over 100GB. I think I'll finish everything this weekend.

I'm also going to include a folder dedicated to new assets which will stay active for a week, before they will be moved to their specific folders.
