GameFAQs gets a massive redesign

I clicked a throwback link and now I wish I hadn't.

Just want to get used to the new site design like I have every new site design since forever.

Redesigning gamefaqs seems like a tough job. No matter what they do those designers are going to get a rough time.

I think it looks good. I would guess there are probably some small problems like any website that gets a compete redesign after 10 years but at first glance it seems fine. Still looks like gamefaqs so its still kind of ugly but it seems more modern and easier to understand.

Yeah, I think the default color scheme looks pretty terrible, but a few of the other ones actually end up looking pretty nice. I'm not totally sure what that is... Gamefaqs burnout, I suppose. Grayscale, Orange on Black, Red, and Red on Black all look better.

Edit: although going back to the homepage does remind me of how cluttered it looks. I'm on mobile, can't speak for desktop. I think their decision to keep their old bolded font for thread titles and such when they had a chance to update it was a pretty poor choice, but changing it probably wouldve pissed off a lot of regulars.

Unless they've changed their barbaric moderation system, I don't really give a damn. GameFAQs moderators are the scum of the net.

You know they are bad when they decide to moderate a month old post.

The new design is terrible IMO. Just feels clunky and full of spaces.

their mobile site (which I use the most) looks waaaay better than their standard site on mobile before.

I approve.

wonder why they don't have an app to this day.

I don't mind the update at all. It's not a massive improvement over the previous version, but it's still better [in my personal opinion, of course].

Just DO NOT use the Cotton Candy theme. If you do, you will be blind within the hour.

That being said, I don't see myself using the site more than I have in the last [several] months. It's difficult to have a decent conversation there, and while there are some decent posters, it's not worth the headache. ~_~

Cloudy Blue has a few problems in the new Opera Mobile but other than that, I'd say it's a good, if conservative update. It'll make my life easier at least.

Awful. I think I'll be spending more time on here from now on.

Gamefaqs reminds me of the internet in the late 90s.

Just to clarify, this is actually a draw of the site for myself and a lot of the community. I'm not a big fan of social media or most modern web designs. GAF is fine. Personally though I think this new redesign just looks plain ugly.

Not even near the type of redesign needed to remain relevant in the age of wikia. It still looks pretty gross. But I so rarely ever use the site I can't imagine it being an issue for me :P

Looks nice actually. This is a good redesign since while it's now more modern, the site still keeps most of its aspects from before.

Looks better than it did before at least. I can't remember the last major design change, but I feel like its been over ten years :p

It looks and runs great on mobile, way better than it used to be. Surprised at the negativity it is getting. Then again I never go to the forums except when a Google search leads me there.

Also, people are recommending cotton candy as a joke right? That stuff is hideous.

I like it.. been on GameFAQs since 2001 and whenever they did revamps I went right back to the classic layouts, but this new one I will keep using.

Well at least the polls of the day are still there.

Do some of you guys really come to the site just for the poll of the day? I remember years back there was a poll of the day asking why you were on the site, and the majority of people voted that it was to vote in the poll of the day. I always found that really strange. I suppose most people coming for a FAQ or something would just ignore it, but even then I wouldn't expect the majority of people who vote in the poll to come to the site solely with the intent of voting, especially considering that occasionally on social boards people discuss the poll.
