Yup. Takes something like two and a half months of constant log ins each day to earn enough points to merely edit your posts.

A web designer at Giant Bomb mentioned a while back that he was helping with the new gamefaqs redesign and specifically said they could barely touch it because it would immediately cause outrage. It sounded like a nightmare job for him. He was right, apparently.

People wouldn't complain if it were good design:

I'm sure all that white space looked good on the iPad or whatever the web designer was using.

It's been redesigned a couple of times. Each time, its users act like it's the worst thing ever and threaten to leave.

Well, before we had the option of choosing what layout we could use but now apparently they are going to take that option away.

Realistically I probably won't leave, but I'm still sad that my childhood is going away like this.

Just stumbled upon this thread and wanted to say that I don't understand some of the negative hyperbole in here with regard to the new design. The new one looks much better than the previous layout, and the fact that it's all HTML5/CSS and works properly on mobile devices trumps any nitpicks that someone might have about it.

The forums, in particular, look a lot better now.
