did he say he hasn't seen Red Steel?

I mean from what I gathered he knew about the game well before the Game Informer reveal and just isn't allowed to really talk about it... like any other publication/website.

he might have know as much as amn guys who stated i beelieve 2 weeks ago nintendo has a game with a swords and guns.

Pretty surprising. I remember hearing similar rumors a long time ago....

By the way, is this the fastest topic to 200k views ever on this board? I think It might be....

Even higher quality scans have been posted. Textures are quite nice in the backgrounds. Characters still look like Xbox quality though.

If that's the case then, I doubt they'll look that shitty even when we see the E3 stuff for it. Cool, cool.

GI gaves us screenshots, we can estimate the specs of the console with that even without

No you fucking can't :lol

That's a seriously absurd thing to say. In terms of specs, it's better to get the actual numbers then to try to "approximate" where they are by looking at pictures that can make the hardware look much better/worse depending on the game/publisher.

It's nice that GI gave us Red Steel pics, a very great exclusive in its own right. But IGN (provided the specs are true) have information with implications that are way more far reaching and integral to the gaming experience. Since we already know about what Revmote could do before the GI article, the only 'new' information was on that single game itself.

I looked at some of the high res scans and it is much more obvious that the poly counts are fairly low on the character models and environments. In some shots (the ones that look more like Timesplitters), the environments are also quite empty and the shadowing and lighting is pretty primitive too.

Will be interesting to see how the game has progressed at E3, just how much damage you can do to the environments etc...and what the upper range of 1st gen Revolution titles will look like (assuming Nintendo brings some along that use final dev kits)

it still looks decent, but I pretty much agree Sardonic. I still can't wait to play this game, though, sure sounds like it'll be fun regardless.

Hey guys. I'm not sure if this is a scan, but for my sake I'm hoping not.

Make that Katana and Revmote look "cut-out", add in "Who are you?" clogan and you've got yourself a print-ad. :D

Seriously, NOA and Leo Burnett might actually be able to ressurect the 'Who are you?' ad campaign by showing hte Revmote used during famous moments in history.

Very interesting. I remember hearing about a Ubisoft FPS with a Doom-like feel. When I saw Red Steel, it was clear it was a totally different game. There were rumors that Ubisoft had two FPS games in development for the Revolution, so perhaps this explains it.

"I can say definitely, as any other developer, we are looking at this magical platform, and we want to be part of the adventure," Mallat explained. He made mention of Red Steel, which was recently announced, and added: "And I'm pretty sure we'll see other Revolution games from Ubisoft. And some of them, I'm sure, will be made from Montreal."

Isn't Romero working on an MMO though? I doubt he's working on the Rev.

Gaybrush Threepio insinuated that Free Radical was working on a Revolution game in the Project Katana thread.

Anything but Timeshitters, please, and get rid of that nasty art style they seem to enjoy using everywhere.

sorry i meant gaybrush, i though he mentioned john remero there. still if thats the case than that is at least 2 more fps for the rev. now if other companies don't realize that fps are going ot be sweet on this system then who knows what the world is turning into

Ubisoft:
-Red Steel
-Doom themed FPS (rumor)
-Brothers in Arms

Activision:
-Call of Duty 2

Midway:
-FPS game? (I remember someone here saying this was actually something else)

Free Radical:
-FPS game

nSpace
-Confirmed support, most likely a FPS

Zoonami?!?!?
-Game Zero?!?!

thought brother in arms was only for ps3 and 360, also midway, when if i recall the had revolution listed once then took it off.

either way rev is shaping up well in the fps department

That Ubisoft release list that got leaked listed Brothers in Arms and Rayman as Revolution games too.

I think someone from AMN mentioned that the Midway game was not a FPS or something like that.

Gah, the launch lineup will be really boring if 3rd parties only bring FPS over to the Rev.

Unfortunately, 1up said that BIA won't be coming to the Rev. So there was at least one innacurate thing about that leaked list. :(

I don't know, they had a really long and excellent Metroid Prime 2 article two years back, right after E3 04.

But again, I want to stress that after seeing the magazine in person, this game really doesn't look bad at all. In fact, I think it does look quite good. Environments look fine, lighting is excellent. The only thing they have to touch up is the character models, but I'm confident they'll make them better in the 6 months they have left. It looks very much better than an Xbox game, in my eyes.

From the latest UK NOM about the next issue...
We're off to Japan to play Sega's next-gen Nintendo games.

Next stop: Paris! We play Ubisoft's groundbreaking Revolution title (obviously it must be Red Steel)

Then back to the UK to play Activision's top secret Rev game!"

How reliable of a magazine is this?

Edit: Never mind, I assume NOM = Nintendo Official Magazine? That would mean that these games are confirmed.

Yup. :) The issue is out May 11th btw for anyone curious wanting to pick it up. Subscribers might get a few days early.

Hmm. I wonder what Activision is working on. If the game is a "secret", I wouldnt' think it would be a port of an existing game. of course, the UK NOM could be crazy and word it poorly.

Probably that exclussive Spider-Man game.

The Sega stuff would be more interesting to me. I'd imagine they'd make different attachments to plug into the revmote other than the analog one. I'd like to see a new Afterburner, Shinobi or House of the Dead, but Sonic & Monkey Ball are more likely?

Could be something else other than Activision's standard fair (Marvel, BIA, Tony Hawk, True Crime, Gun, etc) like something original made with the revmote in mind, but eh, it's probably just that rumored Spider-Man websligging idea.

Magicpaint said:
If it's a Spiderman game, than what's so "secret" about it? That's pretty much a given on any new console... :P

Well I think he's referring to the IGN spider man game where the Revolution controller is used specifically for the game. So that's kind of secret. Sort of.

Wasn't NOM the magazine who said that the Revolution's stand doubled as a power source and that they were gonna have an "exclussive look" at CAPCOM's Revolution games in their first issue? Both of which ended up being false!

I can only wish it was something entirely new though, I'm not liking the idea of the Rev Spiderman at all.

Positive, sir.
