I'm replaying RDR2 and the duel / quick draw mechanic gets explained while it was happening. This is a dumb design decision.
Because I was too distracted reading the tutorial I was too slow on the draw and my opponent shot me in the fucking head before I even realized what I was supposed to do.
I hate when games do this. If you're gonna explain something to me in a non-organic way that requires me to read prompts or button inputs, at least have the decency to pause the game. How the fuck am I supposed to
- control the character
- read the tutorial prompt
- listen to the ingame dialogue
- memorize the button inputs
all at the same time if you don't even let me process what I'm supposed to do?
