Games that make committing murder extremely satisfying...

Dragon Age, city elf origin story.

I got a critical hit when attacking Bann Vaughan, stabbing him then lopping his head off. Felt so satisfying, especially after what he did to spoil your wedding =O

Shadow of the Colossus. I love the way blood spurts out of the enemies and the action slowing down for a moment right after you finish them off.

Epic and ID have perfected making killing fun in games.

Remedy games are all fun to kill things in. I still play max payne 1 and 2 on pc and 360.

Itagaki also. In the NG games killing things feels so good. And what we have seen of Devil's third looks brutal.

Though the best is Dead Space. The game is so brutal and lacks the little bit of lightness or comedy that other games like to throw in.

Even if it borders on sounding sick, I have to say that MGS3 provided the best in terms of player satisfaction. To eliminate entire patrols so quietly, after setting up traps and kill corridors from twenty minutes of observation.... I think it was more of the payoff from waiting so long and planning so much, but the CQC and the jungle dynamics were perfect.

This thread is sick I can't believe you even stop the world I want to get off

I love the sound of people's necks snapping in Uncharted. Nate sounds so gleeful when he kills people in UC3 Co-op.

I love to play Flower before I go on a contract. It helps me to stay focused and helps me forget the horrors I'm about to perpetrate making my job much more satisfying.

Gta 4 because of the way people react to being shot, run over, pushed and so on. Best physics in game yet. It didn't feel as good in rdr though.

Not really a big fan of committing murder in games. In fact a lot of the stuff in this thread is fucking gross, particularly the Manhunt stuff. I bet as a kid I would have loved that game, but as I get older it just kinda creeps me out. Which is funny because this kind of stuff is labeled as "Mature".

To be honest I kinda liked slitting throats in MGS 3. Felt pretty badass going from guard to guard. They sure made me feel guilty for it later though.

Perfect Dark (N64)

The game really extended the frame-work from Goldeneye particularly when it came to interaction and killing enemies.

Part of the enjoyment with the game came from the multiple ways you could kill and toy with enemies. Their hit reactions and variety of canned animations was fairly advanced at the time, but on top of that you could disarm enemies, shoot their weapons out of their hands and watch then scurrying to retrieve their gun. Scare them enough and they would surrender and please for their lives before you could kill them.

You had a wide range of quiet varied gun's which added to the enjoyment, from deploying the laptop gun, guiding a rocket with slayer or getting an enemy solider to start killing for you with the psychosis gun. (See it in action)

Red Orchestra 2, sounds pretty insane to say it but getting a kill in RO2 is amazing, especially at range with a bolt action rifle.

Bulletstorm is so ridiculously satisfying that most of the posts in this thread sound like jokes with it in mind.

Early in RDR, I fell for one of those stage coach traps. After I finished off the bandits, the hussy the tricked me thought she was going to get away. I had other ideas. I thought about tieing her up and dragging her behind until she died.

Then I had a better idea....

If she's a damsel, then I need to put her in distress the classic way.

CHOOOOOO CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

it was rad.

I must say that I have fun killing the targets in Assassins Creed 2. Some deserve it, but man, quite heavy. But I feel bad killing Guards where it isn't directly necessary - especially that one in one of the Assassins Tomb who says that he cannot wait to come home to his wife. Well, he won't.

I can't even come with non-gory responses. What's wrong with me? :(

Just adding Total Carnage because damn yes, it was awesome.

Fox News sees this title: Video game players, play games which encourage murders. Video game Forum is complicit.

To answer the thread: Skyrim, Deus Ex, Hitman blood money, Fallout 3.

Assassin's Creed...

stalking someone around town, only to poison them and stand back into the crowd while they spin around swinging their sword before convulsing on the ground.

all i think is "the perfect crime" lol.

plus the combat system and the kill animations are very satisfying... makes it very rewarding to kill the templars.

splitting someone's head in half with an axe, or stabbing someone through the eyes with your dual hidden blades... it's cringe worthy... but then you realize... it's all a simulation... and it becomes very satisfying.

I am sorry, I know I am playing the game wrong, but about 3/4's of my kills in BF3 beta were from knife kills, and I would say close to half playing BF3 for a few days since I picked it up on Black Saturday were from the knife kills.

I picked this up in bad company or bad company 2 where they kind of felt good, and didn't have the weird jank that hand to hand combat does... or at least as bad... sure, I will miss, but most of the time, I miscalculated his/her trajectory to my blade.

You don't murder people, but the punching and kicking in Arkham Asylum and City is the most satisfying melee combat I've ever experienced. Some of the moves are just so fucking visceral that it feels really fucking good when you execute them.

That batclaw clothesline move gets me every time.

Red Dead Redemption (PS3/X360)

The game that I feel did killing best this generation is Red Dead Redemption, as it currently represents the best use of the Euphoria physics/animation system to date. While killing in RDR consists mostly of good old-fashioned shooting, the realistic yet cinematically comical reactions to the bullets that enemies exhibit makes combat a joy. The core gunplay is bolstered by awesome one-shot kill animations when up close, throwing knives, realistic bullet wounds for headshots, and the ability to hogtie poor bastards and then fire at them as you drag them from behind a horse at full gallop.

The Dead Eye aiming mechanic adds that special flair as well, allowing you to watch your handiwork unfold momentarily in beautiful slow motion.

Well, those are my submissions. I look forward to hearing all of yours!

Yeah RDR is fucking excellent in terms of gunplay. Loved it.

Also loved:

Doom, Blood and Max Payne.

Undead Nightmare was awesome.. and I didn't feel guilty tying up zombies and throwing them off a bridge or under train tracks. Or tying a zombie up and executing them or dropping them onto fires.

Waiting for that cursor to turn red, with your prey turning around just as it goes from yellow to scarlet, and you release X with split-seconds to spare before he's alerted to your presence and leads you to failure. Then you watch the short cut scene play out, in which you swing that bat and hit a home run. Only instead of a crowd, its a brick wall. And instead of a ball, its a man's head.

I fucking love Manhunt, although it sickens me slightly

The Punisher... that was an under-appreciated gem. Plus, killing the villains was super-satisfying. Great game.

Max Payne 1 and 2 are very satisfying in that regard. Max Payne 3 looks to take this up to 11 with the Euphoria addition. Red Dead Redemption was also super-satisfying.

Dead Space 1 and 2 are also great at the violence, making it feel impactful.

Manhunt is a disturbing game, but when it comes to this, you have to give it credit.

Props to Hitman and Assassin's Creed as well.
