Games that make committing murder extremely satisfying...

fallout 3. you're running, panting, 1 energy bar, zero action points, an angry super mutant on your heels...suddenly your action points regenerate ever so slighty, turn around, go into VATS, aim for the head, pull the trigger and EXPLODE THE FACE in a glorious slow motion olympic moment that almost gloats for you....
everything was satisfying except for this part :(

Assassin's Creed. I am not talking about killing your target though. But killing those scummy thieves gives me immense satisfaction that I never thought I'd get from offing 3D characters.

Fallout 3, just because you can individually target limbs, detach them, and then some.

More gore does not make killing people satisfying to me. I do, however enjoy the final distant authority of reaching out and touching someone (usually in the face) with a sniper rifle. One shot one kill.

Likewise a kill that requires planning, research, preperation, and skill is far more memorable and enjoyable than mowing down a dozen unnamed goons or shooting rockets at a big bad until it stops moving.

Ninja Gaiden 2: Combat is fast and hard, your sword feels truly sharp as it slices off limbs left and right. Fountains of blood add to the satisfaction.

RAGE: id have always had good gunplay, and Rage continues this tradition with style. Great hit detection and death animations, powerful explosions, chunky gibs and something about the fluidity of it all that makes it so damn satisfying.

Dead Island: A great example of melee combat. There's a real sense of impact from every hit that makes bashing a zombies head until it explodes a treat. Special mention goes to the cleaver and it's ability to hack off each limb like a deranged butcher.

Wow at Manhunt 2. Never got a chance to play either game, but it looks intense and fun.

Max Payne 1/2 are both great, Gears of War does it well, but I think the very best are Red Dead Redemption and Killzone 2/3. The hit reactions always impress me. I'm a sucker for realistic physics.

i bought Manhunt 2 off Direct2Drive when it was on sale for like $7 months ago. never played much of it yet, but those kills look amazing. its so sick that it ends up just being funny. kinda ridiculous.

here's some weapons executions that i'm not sure were in the other clip ...

when Gamefly took over Direct2Drive they pulled Manhunt 2 from the store because they wont sell 'adults only' games. the game is still available for download for the people who bought it previously tho.

i heard that Gamersgate was looking into selling the game on their store. not sure if they ever did.

I'm really enjoying archery in Skyrim. It's not gory or 'visceral' in any way, but there's just enough skill required to estimate the trajectory of the arrow and when you one-shot a guy his body goes rocketing back and you get a great drum beat and experience level up to go along with it. Then you trek a mile over to his body and you find it lying there with an arrow sticking right our of his forehead; glorious.

I'd say Vanquish, but since the enemies are mostly robots, I don't know if it counts. Still:
