Games that you think are vaporware at this point

About a year ago I would've said Rayman Origins, because at that point barely anything had been heard about it since its announcement a year prior.

Aside from the obvious The Last Guardian, I can't think of any other that I am actually interested in. Good thing, I guess.

Wasn't LA Noire announced in 2005 only to come out last year lol, I think Rockstar just don't want to talk about it either untill GTA V is out or until they are allowed to say its next gen.

Shenmue 3
Mirror's Edge 2

Beyond Good and Evil 2
Final Fantasy VII remake
Nintendo Vitality Sensor
An original IP from Nintendo

The bolded have never been confirmed being in development, BG&E 2 is coming next-gen and Nintendo released Xenoblade fairly recently, so that's a new IP from them.

The Vitality Sensor, however, that's probably vapourware by now.

Prey 2 and XCOM. Last Guardian will eventually come out in some form. There's no way they just scrap it altogether. And the new Rainbow Six will definitely come out. Too big of a franchise, but GR:FS's delays probably impacted R6's development timeline.

Huxley...

Pretty sure this came out as a F2P game in Korea.

Eight Days :(
This was cancelled a long time ago. Not vaporware.

I'll hold out until the end of the year on this since Ragnar intends to announce some sort of Dreamfall plans by the end of the year.

Then again he was hoping to announce something by the end of last year too.

Yeah, but Ragnar has been super busy with The Secret World for a while. I figure after that is released we'll hear something more about future Dreamfall plans.

Huxley...
I was in the public beta 3 years ago or more. I honestly dont remember the year. Its a worthless cookie cutter mmo. Oh look I found the assault rifle that is 1% more accurate and does 2% more damage. Grind grind grind.

Did I mention grind? because the quest stuff was a grind. Then there was deathmatch on the side.

Isn't it kind of weird that 3 high profile vaporeware titles are PS3 exclusives. Sony tends to jump the gun when announcing games, even when they are only in the concept fase.

I have nothing against building hype, but a lot can happen between a game being conceptualised till it becomming a product that's actually going to be released. And I have a feeling they did it again with some Vita titles. Hope they will be more carefull in the future, because at the end it only leads to dissapointment.

Really? Which Vita games? Maybe BioShock, although I'm not sure I'd say that was on Sony. Levine did announce it in the press conference, but it was a lot more vague than with Versus/XIV/Agent/TLG.

No way. It'll come out.

Well yeah, "Rainbow Six Patriots" due for 2013 but like the Natural Roy said, will it truly be the Rainbow Six we've all known and loved?

But I guess as long as it has 4 player coop Terrorist Hunt, it'll be okay in my book.

Ken Levine said he wasn't ready to announce the Vita version but only did so because Sony requested it from him so they could show more support at launch.

hahaha, Thanks to everyone who informed me that this game actually came out. Goes to show you. All i remember was that before the 360 came out Huxley was one of the first titles shown. Memories.

Bioshock Vita
The Last Guardian (Will probably come out looking like a different game on PS4)
Final Fantasy XIII Versus
Metroid Dread
Half Life 2 Episode 3 (We may end up getting a Half Life 3 a few years from now, maybe...)
Vitality Sensor

Isn't Xenoblade part of the Xenogears, Xenosaga IP? So it's not even a Nintendo IP (just the first game in that series on a Nintendo platform)

As mentioned, it's an unrelated game only sharing the name to previous entries. Also, didn't Nintendo buy up Monolith Soft? I thought they pretty much became a 1st party Nintendo group.

Skulls of the Shogun. For some reason, journalists have been hyping it for years even though it looks like a pretty standard indie light strategy game... the only difference is that it never comes out.
To its credit, it's the only console turn based strategy game I've played that holds a candle to Advanced Wars. Should be out in the Fall.

This thread makes me sad lol.
But nothing will ever compare my biggest loss of all time: Primal Rage 2...
Never can forget...
