With the announcement of Metroid Dread and the anticipation for Metroid Prime 4, it got me thinking that Nintendo is the company that has different styles for many franchise. They have 2D Mario and 3D Mario, 2D Zelda and 3D Zelda, 2D Metroid and 3D/FPS Metroid, etc.
They have also done many games with completely different art styles, graphics, genre or gameplay. For example: Super Mario RPG, New Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Odyssey. Also, there's Kirby games which have had different art styles in each iteration, etc.
So then I ask, which game or franchise would you like to see in a different style/perspective/genre?
I'll start:
- A 3D 3PV of Metroid, with very high detailed graphics (ala Final Fantasy, Halo, etc) I don't know if it'd work, but I would love If they came up with a clever idea that's also fun.
- Legend of Zelda as a souls like game (without the difficulty, come on, it's Zelda).
I know these are uninspired ideas, but I'm more interested in reading your ideas and what you guys have in mind.
Just one rule: This is not about a game turning into something else completely, like F-Zero becoming a fighting game. It's supposed to maintain its core identity but in a different style, genre or new gameplay ideas.
What are your choices?
