Final Fantasy XIII and Super Smash Bros Brawl. (Because it's better than Melee)

- Shenmue: It made me shiver the 1st time I play it on my Dreamcast... And when Ryo and his GF rode a motorbike back to their home... Damn!!! Twas sooooo beautiful!!
- Shenmue 2: You need to work your ass to get money son!! But gambling could make you rich faster lol
- Animastar: Wasted 1 year of my life to 100% completed it, wrote a book about all the beast and walkthrough, even without hiragana and kanji knowledges, just simply by trial and error. Basically like playing blindly without knowing the meaning of the texts. I'd slap any single person who said this game was garbage or a child play!!! Lol

For the last one:

Dizzy the Egg (NES): say what you want to say but this damn game was so good!!! It's an egg!! With... Arms and legs!!

Chrono Cross has too many haters in the Chrono fanbase. I'll defend it always. Everytime someone lists everything wrong with it and why they don't like it, it slightly confuses me how they don't see it like I do. I can understand but I can never agree.

The atmosphere and the ambiance were amazing! Pretty much all the audio in this game was great, including the voice acting. It's a point-and-click adventure with the usual item-finding/item-combing gameplay mechanic. The entire game you're exploring the inside of the house as well as the outside of it. You gradually find different info pieces explaining the house and its former residents. That's all it is. You explore and you read, while in the background you hear mysterious noises all around the house, including the main sound being 'scratches' coming from within the basement, and it's all freaking brilliant. The pay off at the end of the game is very worth it, as well.

I absolutely hate that some people think the game is boring. This is definitely a game I will always defend.

I'll still defend Sacred Stones as the best GBA Fire Emblem.

I'm convinced the only reason people liked 7 more was because it was new to the West. Better maps, better cast, and better classes.

Tecmo Super Bowl (NES version).

Still the best football game of all time. Madden, NFL2k, and John Elway's Quarterback got nothing on it. John Elway's Quarterback is terrible just threw that in their for the hell of it.

Anyway, best football game ever. Get a few friends together for a season and watch the hours tick away.

Red Faction Guerrilla and Metal Arms: Glitch in the System.

I like destructible stuff a lot and WAY more games need it. Whether it's blowing down buildings or shooting the limbs off of a robot, it fucking fun has hell and a lot more enjoyable than static environments and bullet sponge enemies.

Modnation Racers: I don't care what anyone says about the handling of the karts, it was fucking fantastic and felt great. It rewarded skill like no other kart racer. People who complained about it just didn't take the time to get better at it.

Resident Evil 4, the best TPS shooter, oh yes.

Brilliant game ofc, but who is attacking it?

I would agree with the OP: Absolution was a great game, was relentlessly attacked by hardcore gamers on neogaf and it absolutely needs to be defended more.

So many people are mentioning classics/universally acclaimed games, I think the implication of the thread is games that weren't well received by either press or fans but you think were great.

FFVIII

FFXIII. I will never understand how people can say the characters are flat and annoying in a world where Amarant and Eiko exist

FFIX has two shitty characters
FFXIII doesn't even have two good characters

that's how.

Monster Hunter. My friends still think it's shit after only playing for half an hour. I've been trying to convert them for years now :P

I can't even convince friends to try it because of the stupid platforms it releases on =/
