Games You've Beaten This Month (February Edition)

This past month I managed to finish:

Deux Ex: Human Revolution
-Have had it since it released, but could not beat that third boss, was stuck on him for a loooooong time. Finally killed him and finished up the rest of the game.

Hitman Absolution
-Enjoyed it a lot, now going to go back and beat all the games in the HD trilogy set.

Chrono Cross
The Legens Of Dragoon
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy Interlude

The last one was really short and kind of a pointless buildup.

Metal Gear Rising

What more can I say that hasn't already been said plenty of times over? Platinum deserves some type of award for swooping in and making an amazing piece of software in time they were allotted. I don't say this about many games, but I can't wait for the DLC!

Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2

This game has been a real treat for me. The story adaptation was one of the best I've seen in a game. Now Dream Mode is distracting me from everything else.

*Goes back to making heads explode*

- The Longest Journey
- Dreamfall
- Bientot lete (not sure if "beaten" is the right word, but it does loop onto itself)

Then I went back and replayed from beginning to end-

GTA IV
The Lost and Damned
The Ballad of Gay Tony

I did that at the end of last year (or early this year, I can't quite remember), but it really was draining. Absolutely worth it though considering the GTA IV saga really is brilliant.

As for me, I finished Tomb Raider last week (yes, the new one) and it's a top-notch action game. Unfortunately, TR was the only game I finished last month. Really need to get a move on and finish Rising, though.

Devil May Cry
Blur
Sega All Stars Racing or whatever
Dead Space 3
Metal Gear Rising
Crysis 3

I thought Devil May Cry was the best game I'd played in a while. Then MGR came along and it's probably my favorite game in years. Even the horrible camera couldn't stop my love.

Blur was great--RIP Bizarre. I don't play kart racers EVER, but All Stars really grabbed me with the demo.

Dead Space 3 was the worst of the trilogy, but I loved all three. The art, lighting, and sound was superb.

Crysis 3 looked and sounded amazing on my PC, but the game was meh. Will probably replay it on the projector setup since I can stealth through it in 3-4 hours lol.

Damn I played a lot of games recently. C'mon daylight savings...

This month I decided to go through quite a bit of my backlog.

I decided to start with my 3DS ambassador titles for the backlog. This particular title started to become quite addicting, even if it is a bit short.

Next up is my first ever F-Zero game. It seems like a decent start to the series, and I've heard better things about the GameCube version. While I personally prefer Mario Kart as my Nintendo racer, this one was still quite fun, if not incredibly challenging.

OLdeeRN.jpg

My preferred GBA racing game, and the only one I haven't played out of the Mario Kart series. It stacked up decently in comparison to all of the other games, though I would put it at the lower end of the list. It may not have been as exciting as playing a new game since I've seen a lot of the levels from the future Mario Kart games.

Finally got some friends together to play the Wii-U. We completed the main quest in a fairly short amount of time, though no one wanted to bother to collect all the star coins. It's my favorite of the NSB series due to the level design, as well as the Yoshi mechanics.

This was my most hyped game on the list. I followed every single detail up to the release, so it had quite a lot to live up to. Thankfully, it met and exceeded those very high expectations. I enjoyed every waking moment of the game, and am now going through a lunatic play through. My passion may have simmered down a bit after I beat it one time through, but it's definitely a game that's going to keep me coming back.

I finally came back to this title, and went through and gold starred each one mini game. It was quite the party hit, and the quality of the games exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this for any party situation.

My last game of February. The only RPG that I have ever beaten in one sitting. I pulled an all-nighter last night finishing this one up, and I don't regret one minute of my sleeping schedule being messed up. It was one of the best RPGs that I have played in a long time, and I just couldn't put it down. It was truly an amazing ending to this month's backlog rush.

Dishonored
Went for the stealth/no kill playthrough as I did in Deus Ex. I found that route a bit more enjoyable than DE:HR, though the game was extremely tempting to go all out with weapons and powers for fun rather than frustration. Beautiful world and gameplay was superb. Definitely my personal 2012 GOTY had I played it then, and I hope to see the IP return in 3-4 years time.

Dead Space 3
A fitting conclusion to the trilogy, though a bit anti-climatic and the story is wanting. The forced character drama is The Walking Dead worthy, so be prepared if you haven't delved into it yet. Gameplay is great and improved from the other games, though the extremely aggro and mobbing A.I. is not a highlight.

Don't be put out by the microtransactions, as you won't really notice them unless you're looking to use it against the game in the first place.

The unlockable difficulties are worth it. Didn't try co-op yet, as my death in hardcore encouraged me to take a break and work on the rest of my back log. Overall a good game that shows that story can be just as important as gameplay, and that was where it hit some snags.

Arcanum.

That was my 4th or 5th walkthrough, still enjoyed the hell out of it. Decided to play as a bounty hunter / swordsman Half-Orc who knew a bit of magick. I swear I'm going to play a full techno hero one day, without that magic nonsense I'm coming back to all the time.

Final Fantasy II (SNES, so IV), beating it felt way better than on the DS.
Metal Gear Rising, GOTY so far.

EDIT: Oh yeah and Winds of Thunder on PCEngine, but I could say this every damn month. :P

Lume HD - iOS
Pokemon SoulSilver Version - DS
Kometen - iOS
The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker - GCN
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Wii U
Tetris - GB

Man, i dont see how a lot of you guys beat so many games in one month. I did manage to beat:

ZombiU- great game, but had been playing it since December
Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword- liked this, i did kind of like the motion controls but got kind of tedius after awhile. Hope the next one goes back to the gamepad.

I'm one of those that doesnt like to start a new game while playing one, had Assassins Creeed III still in the wrapper til I beat ZombiU, also have played a few levels of BLOPS 2 so maybe those two will be beaten in March

Most of my month has been dedicated to playing the original Persona 4 on PS2. I speedrun Super Mario 64 a lot of I've beat that a bunch of times as well.

Did my first playthrough of Persona 4 (ps2). That was a seriously long game. I guess I was slowed down though because I streamed it and was talking to people watching the whole way. :-/

Most of Okami (ps2). Also my first time playing.

Absolutely loved it, another favorite :)

Replay, even better then before.

Currently playing Ni No Kuni (so gooooooooood! I don't want it to end) and Metroid Fusion (love/hate. About halfway through).

to-the-moon-logo1.jpg

Loved this game so much, had a greater emotional impact than the walking dead for me

Felt the same way, To The Moon is the opposite of games I normally like, but I knew it was short, so I struggled through the early parts and when it got good, it got amazing, seriously, fantastic
Also
Deadlight.... solid, not great, not bad, just solid
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet.... loved it in the beginning, but that love faded away, sorry :/

Finally finished Walking Dead, replayed Fallout 3, done with Fire Emblem for now. Few mobile bits and blurbs.

Going to work on EO4 some and mix it with Tomb Raider next week.

- Theatrhythm Final Fantasy
- Quantum Conundrum
- Liberation Maiden

Three good games I would recommend to anyone.

Singularity
This was a surprisingly enjoyable game that I've owned since it's release. Finally managed to accept the fact that the FOV is always going to be horrible (played on PC), and found a Bioshock lite lurking in there. I miss Raven :(

Crysis 2 with MaldoHD 4
Played halfway through this when it came out, and loved what I saw then. Stopped it for some reason, and never managed to get back into it again. Restarted it now with the release of MaldoHD 4, and finished it in 2 days. Still think it's a good game, and looks absolutely stunning in all it's Maldofied glory.

Rage
Have started this multiple times, but never managed to really get going because of technical issues. Finally made it work well with SLI this month, and played through it in a week. Enjoyed it a lot, but got a bit fed up with the car racing. Wish the physics had been more fun.

Ratchet & Clank 3
Been playing through all the R&C games with my girlfriend, and I've had this going since september I think. Finally finished it. Very enjoyable.

Kentucky Route Zero Episode 1
Completed this at night with a few whisky glasses by my side. Really fascinating experience. Didn't manage to follow the story all that well, so I think I need another playthrough. Got to distracted by the stellar visual design. Felt like a cross between Twin Peaks and Sword and Sworcery.

Karateka
Very short. Completed it ten times. Absolutely love it. Throwaway entertainment I suppose, but that's part of what makes it great.

Thirty Flights of Loving
I had high hopes for this one, but I'm afraid my intellectual faculties came up short here. I see that there's a lot of clever stuff in here, the design is cool, the sudden cuts are interesting, and some of the scenes are very atmospheric. But I just didn't feel that it had given me much at all upon completion. Great music by the Remo though.

I've played Ni no Kuni all February long.
And you know what? I haven't got my platinum already.
80 hours. But I won't give up.
Meanwhile, my backlog is crying.

Assassins Creed III- Commits one of the biggest sins in gaming and thats being boring. It felt like a chore to play this game. I absolutely loathe this franchise now. Thought 1 and 2 were decent but I can't tolerate it anymore.

MGR: Revengence- The complete opposite of Assassins Creed III. The game was incredibly fun and forced a smile on my face just from the pure over-the-top action. Platinum is probably my favorite Japanese studio at the moment besides Nintendo.

Infinite Undiscovery- Felt like giving the game a chance.... Decent battle system that felt a little too slow at times especially when you are first getting use to it. The game is really nothing to get excited for and is mediocre to decent at best. Enjoyed it more then AC3 if that matters.

Far Cry 3 - Got the Platinum.

Dishonored - Finished story on a low chaos playthrough...will go back to get some more trophies at some point.

The sad thing is that after finishing these games I've gone back to my backlog so I'm now playing Assassin's Creed 3 - which is a total load of crap when compared to these games.

DMC and Dead Space 3, both on PC.
DMC was better than I expected. DS3 had some issues but was still worthy of the franchise. Had a great time with both.

Dead Space 3 (PC) - A big let down...up until Chapter 10 the game was decent and I actually had some fun with it (even though it was still worse than the fisrt two games) but after that DS3 turned to shit and the already fucked up combat became such a chore, one of the most disappointing games of this gen IMO.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (360) - Platinum took a failed/scrapped concept and made a fuckin' awesome game out of it, really liked that the game feels and plays different than the other big action titles...this game is so addicting and crazy fun, all the reports saying that the game does pretty well sales wise make me very happy. Platinum = <3.

Uncharted_3_Boxart.jpg

Definitely disappointing coming from Uncharted 2. Some good setpieces, but the characterization went to shit pretty quick. I really disliked the combat scenarios, and overall the game felt really off. This would have been on my letdown list in 2011.

alan-wake-rumor-logo.jpg

Revisited on Nightmare to clean up lagging collectibles and to finally play the DLC episodes. Game still holds up really well after a few years. Episodes tend to have a bit too much combat filler to stretch the gametime, but overall I was pleasantly surprised how enjoyable this still was. Plot came together a lot smoother a second time around, being able to pick out little details that were lost on me my initial run.

Signal was pretty meh though as is popular opinion, but the Writer was far more creative and better executed.

Metal Gear Rising - It was ok. Overall I still think the game does not fit well in the MGS universe but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I give this game 8/10. I do not plan to beat the game on harder difficulties, at least not for now.

Singularity

you can fix the FoV with Widescreen Fixer but wow, how the hell did manage to beat the game with that God awful FoV?!

this month I've beaten:

Monkey_Island_Remake_Final-MI-Keyart_fix.jpg
mi2se.jpg%3Fw%3D350%26h%3D509

I thought that I'll be able to beat StarCraft 2 too but a lot of things came up, I don't think I'll even beat it this month.

a shame because it's been in my backlog for a really long time now, and I was looking forward to finish it before HotS comes out ....
