Gamespy Most Wanted Game 2006 = HALO3

So selling more the first few days is better than selling more overall?

i think ony gta and gran turimso sold better total this gen. maybe dragon quest pokemon i don keep track of charts.

but that have no relevancy to norse words. halo is popular. you are bitter.

anyone think that Halo 3 will be the biggest fucking disappointment ever? How can MS put this much pressure on one game? The original was a good, solid FPS, tuned for consoles. The second was more of the same with online that the first one should already have had.

I don't know what on earth they can put in three to justify the hype it will get. Perhaps 'pretty graphics' will be enough?

Bitter about what?

think? i think by your words. you hope halo3 is the fucking biggest disappointment. ;PP

i think ms knows halo best not to kill halo3.

how you talked about halo1-2 comes to mind gt3-4. you can draw parallels. i see no point in this type of piss war. you see the same?

I believe he was talking about the hype it generated. Also known as anticipation. You know, what this list is about

If this list is about hype, then why oh why is Okami ahead of a FF game?

I replied because I didn't think his argument held any relevancy. So tell me, why am I bitter?

Why is Black so high? It isnt even 'ok' in many ways.

Gears of War (X360, PC) Epic make good playing games now? :lol

04. Games of the Nintendo Revolution
03. Games of the PlayStation 3

what ???

26. Star Wars: Empire at War (PC) :lol The fact its even afew places behind the WarCraft expansion is astonishing.

Stupid Gamespy.

Just curious but how SHOULD the list break down Deg?

The Dark One

The fact that so many people place a game as there number one anticipated game without even seeing a single screenshot or not even knowing a release date is a very good sign why the industry is going down the shitter!.

I don't care what name is slapped on the title, I like to wait and see what critics and people have to say first. Buying a game on name alone doesn't exactly promote the developer to push the boundaries of game design.

Huh? Halo 3 is the game I am looking most forward nextgen aswell period. I dont think it is weird at all. There are people here who are waiting for the nextgen Mario game and are very excited about what it will be, again not weird... The industry is not going to the shitter because we loved the prequels and are excited about the sequels.

This is their most anticipated game list as apposed to the best game of the year list. It just means that they are looking forward to the games. I'm sure a good handful of those games will eventually turn out to be turds, but at this moment they are hot. That is why I feel the "some PS3 game" and "some rev games" is almost justified being on the list.

I don't see what's so odd that the millions of Halo fans are excited about a sequel that theyÂ’ve never seen or how thatÂ’s any indication of the industry "going down the shitter." If anything it's a reaffirmation that sequels are easy sells and you have to have a truly remarkable and heavily marketed product in order to ensure a line of sequels. ThatÂ’s an industry practice thatÂ’s been the standard for 20+ years and we seem to be doing quite well.

Beaten by two posts, oh well.

If Bungie can dissapoint even more than they did with Halo 2, I'm done with the Halo series.
But H:CE is still so great that is hard to not feel hyped about H3

Halo 3 will be hyped by the drones. Let them go ahead. Their loss if they like a mediocre FPS (que someone citing hundreds of reviews). Gamespy has been a clusterfuck for years, and even the mods there freely admit it. Halo 3 represents next gen.....despite not a single feature being announced. Yes....that's not biased at all. This year belongs to the PC and PS2

Dude, what a fuckin idiot.

more than any other game, Halo 3 is the one product that represents the whole next-generation battle for gamers like us.
What? It'll be outshined on a technical level by more or less everything decent on the PS3, and whether the Revolution will truly bring about the innovation that Nintendo's hoping it will remains to be seen--but Halo 3 doesn't even have the potential to be innovative.
If a game isn't not either the most technologically advanced or the most creative, I don't see how anyone can claim that it represents the next-generation battle.

Nah, GTA will kick Halo's ass again. No doubt. Which would be depressing if not for the fact it was keeping Halo out of the top spot. Though this generation I believe Gran Turismo 3 was the single best selling game outside of the three GTAs, and GTA3 + 4 have to be close, or even past, Halo 1 and 2 sales. At least according to the data I've seen... but I could very well be wrong. I see lots of wildly varying stats listed for games. I'm sure someone has the official numbers.

Slightly outdated, and limited to North America only (as far as I can tell), but still...

Yeah, the two GTA games surpass the two Halo games. Outside of GTA, Pokemon R/S/E was the best-selling single game if you combine the three versions, which I think you should; if not, then Halo 2 and the Halo 2 limited edition take the top rank if you combine them, which, again, I think you should; if not, then Pokemon R/S is at the top even without Emerald; if that's still not counted, then, yes, it's Gran Turismo 3.

Thats all wrong

Halo 3 will be the number 1 game in 2007 not 2006.

Its going to be crazy when Halo 3 hits. The new movie plus next gen Halo, can you imagine the impact its going to have on this industry?

GTA + Halo in 2007, both games are going to obliterate everything

i have to agree. i dont think anyone thinks halo 3 is 2006 at this point.

MS got everything right with the marketing for Halo2 imo "There were those that said this day will never come, what are they to say now?" that trailer easily ranks up there with the best.

Man you bastards have got me all excited for it, Marty O Donnels music kicking in with Chief laying the smackdown on the covenant in next gen glory. God damn its going to be one of those special moments that makes you think how great it is to be a gamer.

Halo3 will most likely change the way FPS are played on Xbox Live too. I have faith in Bungie, they must of learnt a great deal through Halo 2 multi.

Looking foward to their new FPS tech as well.

wow, people actually want Starcraft Ghost?

Well I do.. to some extent. As far as Blizzard stuff goes im looking forward to Starcraft Ghost far more than the WoW expansion because SC: Ghost at least has a chance of being a good game. WoW on the other hand is unsalvageable unless they totally change the core mechanics of the game.

Wow. They haven't even SEEN Halo 3 and they're already jerking off to it? :lol

does it matter?
is Halo that's the only thing that matters :)

but like others said I doubt and hope that's going to be released in 2006

They know nothing about it. For all they know, it'll be Halo Party! :lol

Don't knock the idea - remember when everyone expected Kirby's Air Land to be a platformer? :D

You're missing the point. Most of the posters on this forum are what I call "gaming politicians". They translate EVERYTHING into "my console vs. the console I hate". Period.

So they don't see "Halo 3 is the most anticipated game". They see "XBOX360 exclusive is above a game on my console of choice".

Once you realize and accept this, it will remove a lot of the anxiety.

I'm a handheld Nintendo fan, so I'm unbiased. :)

i'm surprised journalist outlets never challenge the thought that halo is very much endeared solely by the relatively small circle of xbox owners who, at least in the last generation, did not have many titles to look forward to otherwise (comparatively speaking to the much larger ps2-ownership)?

which is to question, does halo in fact have the mass market potential the games media and certainly microsoft believes it has? one could easily point at sales figures, sure, but as i mentioned above, if you have 22 million - or whatever it is - hungry xbox owners worldwide, of course they are going to pick up halo 2, etc. but is halo truly a system seller? and does anyone outside of the xbox owning community actually care?

A theoretical Halo Party if done properly would honestly be in competition for GOTY for me... along with Rumble Roses XX and Zelda of course :)

If you count worldwide sales then Gran Turismo 3 is the best selling game this gen.

I thought GTA: SA and VC sold a bit better?

I'll respond to this list and some of the opinions in this thread in a bit.

This is without a doubt, one of the dumbest things I've ever read on the internet.

And nevermind the fact that your post history reveals you to be an idiotic XBOX/MS hater, you just display no logic in that post because that can apply to ANY game on ANY console.

You sir, *cue Chris Colinsworth voice* are just dumb.

feel free to challenge my alleged, "xbox/ms hater" post history. but a brief look at your own posts reveals quite the urge to necessitate banter regarding "console vs console" and "series vs series" replies, not unlike your own reply to my post assumes.

one must question: who here is the hater?

and excuse me for posing an alternate perspective out of sheer curiosity in regards to the subject matter of the post. my question was honest, and not out of left-field.

2007 will be great. Mass Effect,Halo 3,Too human,Lost odysseyGTA,MGS4,RE5 and I'm sure theres just more games for each console that will be annnounced soon for 2007.

It seems like every 3 years is a good year for gaming,1998,2001,2004,2007....etc

I just know it will put a huge dent on my wallet like 2004 did. :scared
