It comes across as them firing nearly everyone that provides unique content for the site. Are they trying to turn it back into just being about game trailers? That seems like a bad idea now that Youtube is the place that people go to for trailers.

GT's E3 coverage is always the best and this year was no different.

It's a terrible idea because their content player is one of the worst I've ever used. It's thanks to their unique content that I visit their site...

Justin is probably one of my favorite people at the site. I actually wish they would use him more often, because he has a great personality, and is really level headed/measured with his opinion. IN fact, I always thought he should have been a permanent member on GT Time.

This was posted in the other thread, but I feel it fits here because it'll give people an idea as to the scope of the layoffs:

Approximately 20 Viacom employees will join Defy as part of the transaction; as a result, Defy Media will have a headcount about 250.

So it sounds like they're only keeping 20 people between Addicting Games, GameTrailers and Shockwave.

wow... thats hardly anyone. it didn't speak well when viacom only cared to keep GT streaming e3 coverage for conference day and then basically let their coverage die to recorded video. i felt bad for the people working the show floor from GT, the loss of the live stream had to hurt viewership on the site. it didn't help that they had no one plugging content on any social outlet...
