XIII-2 should have been on there instead of XIII. Sure XIII was disappointing, but Square had the chance to remedy that with the sequel. They didn't. That should be reason enough to have it on there.

Plus, at least XIII had more Sahz and less Sarah & Noel the "most generic FF character ever".

I don't think anything was wrong with 13, but -2 is a complete departure from it. They changed almost everything and it really worked. Outfuckinstanding RPG.

No. It's more repetitive than it should be & it was WAY overpriced on the Wii (much better to get it via FF4 Complete PSP these days) but I thought it was fun.

FFL shouldn't be on the list because it's not really a Final Fantasy game. And FFMQ shouldn't be on the list if only for some great songs in the soundtrack.

The review makes mention that the only saving thing from the game is the soundtrack, but I quite enjoyed the combat, especially the interesting DQ inspired front to back battles. It made some of the monsters feel epic to fight.

Actually the list is not so bad when you consider that like 70% of those games blow most other RPGs out of the water. Mystic Quest, FF2, all fun games. I don't think XIII should be there over X-2 though.

Also FFXIV 1.0 post patch 1.19 was actually really good.

II is definitely dated and hard to pick up today, but the quality is roughly on par with I and III. II's level up system was poorly thought out but a lot of ff games have poor leveling systems.
