When most people talk about gaming monitors they mean the really high refresh rate/1ms kind used for fast paced multiplayer FPS. What about monitors for people who want good color accuracy and picture quality? I've noticed that "gaming monitors" look horribly washed out when it comes to colors. Are there affordable monitors that have good response time but have anything close to a plasma in color or PQ? I use a plasma for console gaming but I need a new monitor for my PC and I might also play some PS4 using the monitor. My future PC build isn't going to aim for anything higher than 60fps most of the time so I don't need really high refresh rates. Before anyone mentions gsync, I still don't know if I'm going Nvidia or if those monitors will even be affordable.
I have two monitors - a TN 120 Hz for mostly gaming and a IPS 60 Hz for most other things.
After you try a 120 Hz monitor with Lightboost, you can't go back to anything else. Screw the colors. For gaming TN colors are more than enough. Smooth movement and lack of blur is incredible.
