Generally speaking, I would never find a reason to pay for porn, but I'm kind of feeling like throwing $10 at black spark (nsfw, derp) now that Tumblr is deleting all of his videos. Shit's crazy-hot, shot better than a Fincher film, and has amazing music.

I wanna try >_>

Aren't you due for a Pacific NW vacation or something? ;)

it's message only, as far as I know, but I think there's a smartphone app or something with which you can chat with people in real time, not sure though. the Important thing is that it's free, honest and there are lots and lots of profiles with real people that answer, specially for midwestern Europe. No crappy pop-ups, no malware, no bad stuff, no "fill this form" bullshit to be spammed to hell and back later on, it's a clean site, the guys that started the site are based in Amsterdam and really try hard.

there are very few Americans though. Actually, there are very few profiles from anywhere in the Americas, so it makes sense to be there if you are planning on coming to Europe at some point.

i used to use gayromeo when I lived in europe. There's plenty of expat Americans on it :) I met a lot of cool people on it and would chat with a bunch of friends on it.

i didn't use it when i was in the netherlands, as it may never have existed then, but it was fine for german speaking countries. it may have changed, but it was message only. You could still carry on a reasonably real-time conversation, but it wasn't a chat, but this may have changed.

For real though! I don't know where you live exactly, and I don't know WA at all, but we should try and get lunch or something when I go! It's not till the end of August :o

Working in the kitchen at one of the restaurants in Nordstrom, and going to Central full-time. I'm exhausted about 95% of the time.

nice, nice, and not so nice, but i at least have some vague idea of how you feel :( was doing a full-time thing last quarter with a 25-45 minute commute 2-5 times a day between work and UW, sometimes working until 1 or 2 am :( sucked hard. i think i saw one or two friends for that entire quarter.

hopefully this summer you'll get to hang out in cal anderson a bit and enjoy some d'ambrosia or something :)

I'm so confused by this Tumblr. I thought they were pornographic music videos, but the Tumblr claims they're far from pornographic, so are they supposed to be erotic art pieces? And the director's identity is secret and he wears a mask, and there's a small Wikipedia article devoted to the site in which people have tried to discover his identity? Is this an ARG?

So I've been dating a guy for 4 months, we have a lot in common, and we were talking on cam tonight and he told me there's just something that's not there for him, that should be there for a relationship. I feel like shit :(

He makes porn, there's no argument about it; Tumblr is being wildly hypocritical by taking the videos down because there's a proliferation of gay and straight pornographic pictures and videos on the site that are left alone. They even have multiple designations available for your blog if it's something that could be offensive or whatever. It just makes no sense why they've targeted his work.

As its creator, black spark obviously holds a higher opinion of this stuff than reality presents... I mean, it's graphic footage of guys masturbating or fucking (with the occasional video simply idolizing the naked male form), but filmed very artistically and set to pretty great music. Where do you draw the line between art and porn? For example, Tumblr doesn't seem to have any issues with things like Pink Narcissus, Bruce LaBruce, or Kenneth Anger being on the site.

The mask thing is kind of his trademark at this point. He prefers to keep his and his performer's identities a secret, rarely, if ever showing their faces -- they wear masks or are obscured in some way or another.

Reading the interview he did with Out, it seems like black spark's line is that porn is something that's staged while all of his things are real, although I didn't really get that from the video I saw.

I'm not familiar with the other Tumblrs you mentioned outside of Bruce LaBruce's (is this a stuffed rabbit?), but it seems like most of pornographic Tumblrs (like GAF's) are reposting existing images. Maybe Tumblr draws some sort of arbitrary line at having their site be the place where people host and distribute their own porn, as opposed to using it to keep a collection or gallery. If not, it seems strange to pick on a specific guy, especially if it gives Tumblr traffic.

God, I'm ready to pay the ten dollars myself just because my curiosity is now piqued.

Maybe he's just saying that Tumblr is removing his content, but they're actually not.

I don't think I'd ever spend any money on porn; it bores me pretty fast.

Nothing to crazy. Looking through their "Community Guidelines", Tumblr disallows uploading sexually explicit content via the Video button. They say they don't want it and they don't want to pay for hosting it. Embeds, photos, and whatever else are fine.

It's something that appears to have been on the books, so to speak, for a while now. He should be surprised at Tumblr asking him to take it down. Eh, something like Dailymotion or unlisted YouTube might have been more appropriate places for his work anyways, if they're as you described. And if anyone else is uploading "explicit" videos via Tumblr's built-in video uploader, I guess they're just breaking the rules too.

the style of sending blue messages and waiting a long ass time to get a reply hasn't changed but it kinda works. It lets you see whether you and another guy have something in common to actually hold a conversation or maybe even have the social skills..

some people can't put two words together. When I get a message with nothing but the word " hi ", I don't reply. I put effort when I approach someone, I think I deserve that too.

So I've been dating a guy for 4 months, we have a lot in common, and we were talking on cam tonight and he told me there's just something that's not there for him, that should be there for a relationship. I feel like shit :(

that was a bit mean from him.. a couple of weeks is o.k but 4 months is way too long to leave someone with hopes of a relationship. It can be argued that he was making up his mind but I don't think anyone needs that long to determine. Keep your head up, better things will come :)

ISWYDT... there are pills for that little problem, you know...

it's called "evolved sexuality and sense of erotism". *lol

when I was young I'd stare at dressed men, guys next door, and get aroused.

when that got old and internet came, I'd watch pictures of men naked and get aroused, ANY man would do it. That got old after some years.

after that it had to be man on man action, a man all by himself touching was boring.

after that it had to be anal sex because watching oral is boring and takes forever and most of the time people suck at it (no pun intended).

after that it had to be contextual sex, like 2 men in an office or a violin teacher with his student or two doctors or something interesting. Beautiful bodies required, of course, at all times

after that, it had to be people with charisma, with eyes and attitude that pierce your soul, not just any nice trained body.

I am there... and that's the reason I find 95% of (free) porn extremely boring and not worht paying up for and I have no erection problems, I get a boner every night like every other guy.

this is a depressingly accurate figurative summary of the major problem with the (generally pretty amazing) 21st century.

you mean that sexuality as a whole is evolving?

I really wonder why you'd call it a problem. I think it's for the better, if you ask me, it's just higher standards. I am pretty happy the way I see things.

Extreme over stimulation doesn't lead to evolution so much as it does to disfranchisement with reality, a dulling of a sensation that was once vibrant.

As we gather experiences in particular facets of our lives, we tend to fine tune our opinions, perceptions and even feelings about them.

me not getting a boner from staring at some piece of meat called penis or arm or back or from watching two people staging a lifeless sex act but instead getting one from the sum of all parts with erotism, sensuality, concepts of beauty, the idea of 2 people in the same frequence doesn't dull my sensation, in the least. It sets me apart from animals, I'd say.

there is plenty of casual porn that arouses me, but it has to be well done or have something extra.

Spats is pretty cute. ^_^ I finally pestered him enough to show me his full face instead of the half-a-face he had for realpic January.

can somebody explain something to me about Okcupid..?

how come there are so many guys so extremely handsome and with great bodies? it's too much, gayromeo in Europe is about the guy next door and in okcupid EVERYONE has the great torso, the nice smile, the great eyes.. It's like it's not real.

and there's a huge disproportion between men and women, women look like ass, I've found a couple that look great but for the most part, damn, they don't hold a candle when compared to the guys (and no, not because I am gay, I can appreciate beauty both sides)

what's the deal with this site? does it work? are those profiles for real? I don't even bother writing cause I don't think anyone gives a damn about anything.

I will visit my brother in washington, D.C. in some months (weeks?) and thought I could meet someone there.. but it's doesn't seem like I'll have any luck with that site :-/

Most people on steroids don't get enough blood to the brain, right?

I mean, I have had a fair share of obviously brain dead muscle guys, but this one goes beyond reason.

Some weeks ago he was obviously sending spam to all GayRomeo (easy to spot, cookie cutter message about him being a flight assistant spending a lot of time in Madrid, without actually visiting your profile), and the moment I got his message for the second time the next day I called him out, something like "hey, if you're going to send the same copypasted message to all guys around make sure you don't send it to the same people twice", which he answered with a "FUCK OFF".

And today, he changed his photos and profile name so I didn't recognise him in the thumbnail and visited his profile ("oh, it's this moron, close window"), and then he sent a message to me saying it was a pity I didn't message him after visiting. Note that since that incident I haven't switched pics.

Dafuck?

I mean... am I too good remembering faces or is he just a complete and absolute braindead tard?

Edit: and nobody believes that "36 years old" part, he's at least 46, if not more.

Must be a regional thing. Lots of guys that look like ass average when I did searches on Okcupid.

You remembered him because he made an "impression" on you.
For him, you were probably just another guy to whom he might send a message.

I remember pretty much every face I see in online dating profiles (as well as people I have a bare minimum of interaction in real life), so it's always strange to me when people act this way like they didn't ever tell me to fuck off or something like that. Maybe I'm the abnormal one, don't know, but it's part sad and part wtf when people that openly rejected me start sending messages sometimes as close as 5 days after, begging me to get laid like we didn't ever talk.

gayromeo does have its share of idiots.

The best thing you can do is ignore them, he obviously was pissed when you called him out.

and the age thing, guys being bald and with a salt and pepper goatee saying they are 36....it's amazing, I am 34, and those guys could be my grandpa, lol.

You write a profile in OKcupid (not really needed if you're browsing but...) then you answer questions. The more you answer, the better it "matches" you. That's the whole idea behind Okcupid, to answer questions (and be open with them) to where you find someone similar to you.

Billiechu: What do you mean I've changed?

You mean my avatar? It's for a Sega release tomorrow. :3

Hey... I was just making fun of my good old buddy H here. No need to go getting all psychoanalytic on me D:
:P

After watching some pictures on Facebook, I realized I have been a 3rd wheel once and a 9th wheel twice (which reminded me of that Magnus' post :P) in the last 2 weeks... and...

Just registered on Gayromeo and the first message I got was from a university professor.

I keep getting more messages, but do people expect an answer immediately or is it okay to send back hours or a day later? I'm not really a fan of chatting :/

Also, can people see I visited their profile? Can they see I've read their message to me?

yeah, since people can see exactly if you are on or offline and whether or not you have read their messages, I think waiting more than needed isn't adviced.

However, answering tomorrow is o.k., don't stress yourself. I personally break the communication whenever somebody starts with the " the hell is going on?? you not answering? did I say something wrong? what did I do? " I FUCKING HATE pushy people.

yes, people can see you visited them, that's the point of it, that they see you had some interested in them.

That sucks. I feel constantly pressured while chatting and things like these just make it worse.

Btw how can people see you've read their message? And how can I see who visited my profile?

I closed my profile but if I remember correctly, in the lower part ot the main hub, once you are online, there this tab called "visitors" (in the language you chose), if you click there, you see everyone that has clicked your profile and when, you can also see if they sent you an "Icon" sometimes is like "Hot" or "Cute" or "Nice" :D

and the messages.. mmhh.. click in the lower part of the main site on the envelope icon, then you can choose to see "sent messages". if you have sent anyone a message, it will display "read" or "unread", it it says "read" then they have read it, if you get no reply, they chose to ignore it.

I think you guys need a hobby. Internet dating failures seem to take up such a large portion of your life.
