GC:15 Minutes of Knack Gameplay

But since you are constantly moving forward, it is unfortunate that enemy bodies disappear... I'm now thinking it has nothing to do with system limitations, but is a choice based upon the theme of the game.
Of course it is. Why is that somehow harder to grasp for this game than all the other similarly light-hearted, family-oriented games that do exactly the same thing?

Looks fine but I just have zero interest in the game, I don't know why. I actually enjoyed the initial reveal trailer but once I saw the gameplay my interest went straight to zero.

looks alot better than at e3. i really like the machinery level. still disapearing bodies and boring secrets. nothing stands out as being really creative and fresh which is a shame because it should be with a game like this.

Doesn't seem like there's much more to it than hitting guys and finding small hidden rooms. The player's really just tearing through those levels because there's nothing in them to catch his attention. It looks stunning, but really lifeless.

Still looks dull and boring, I'm betting it's the first full PS4 game available on PS+. The only mistake Sony made (IMO) at the PS4 unveil was having Knack be the first PS4 game ever shown, it's just not impressive

Does look kinda drab and boring still.
Could be a nice little time waster maybe.

It it a least confirmed to run at 60fps?
It has to be surely.

We watched a scene in which Knack learns that he can collect ice as well as relics. Ice functions as a powerup, because in Knack's ice form he can perform ice attacks and freeze enemies, but if he walks into the sun he'll quickly melt and lose his powers. Another powerup is wood, which can be collected to make Knack very big very quickly, but if Knack gets set on fire heÂ’ll lose all his wood relatively fast.

Knack will also collect sun energy throughout his travels, and he can use this energy to perform room clearing super moves such as an explosion that causes all the relics in his body fly apart and damage the enemies around him. We also saw Knack turn into a giant relic tornado and sweep through a level tearing apart his foes.

Knack also features a casual co-op mode. A second player can take the controls of a creature named robo-Knack. As robo-Knack, players can still fight enemies, collect relics, and grow in size, but robo-Knack is kind of like Tails from the Sonic games in that the gameÂ’s progress is directed by Knack himself. Robo-knack canÂ’t die, and can even donate relics to Knack, so this might be a good mode for young gamers or people who find the core game too challenging.

Looks much better than the first few vids. Seems to be some complexity to the fighting (almost up to GOW level).

I have to say it. Someone has to say it. And I say it having enjoyed that series from the start.

Square-Square-Triangle. Square-Square-Triangle. Square-Square-Triangle. Square-Square-Triangle. Square-Square-Triangle. Square-Square-Triangle. Square-Square-Triangle.

You missed a square.

Ugh. Still looks choppy, the hit detection for jumps and platforms feels off, and dare i say it loos uninspired as hell gameplay wise.

Also, one of the biggest problems I have with it, is that Knack movement and speed looks off. It seems somewhat slow and stiff.

I played the game at gamescom. I was sceptic about the videos i saw from E3, but i must say it was a lot of fun somehow and it looked great! This was after playing titles like Dead rising 3, Forza and the crew. To me Knack looked just as nice, very colourful. Mb i just am more open to smth different then shooters.

This game is looking much more promising for me after this gameplay video and the new trailer they put out. Reminds me of Crash Bandicoot and God of War blended. I used to love games like Spyro and CB back in the day and it would be a breath of fresh air to play something like this!

If the price is $39.99 I will be in for sure.

You like it that much, huh? Sounds good!

BTW how did you like Read Rising 3? That was the only XB1 title I was seriously interested in.

I like it. It certainly looks straightforward in gameplay terms, but I'm down with that. Framerate seems improved from previous showings, and the new levels they played looked neat.

I doubt it'll set the world on fire, but it does look like some PS1-style action/adventure fun.

Looks better than expected. The camera seems very solid (looks Galaxy inspired to me). Overall I get a strong Lego game vibe, which is a good thing.

I love that Sony is launching with a mascot action game.

It looks...ok? I guess?

Not horrible by any means, but it get no indication that I should play this for any reason what so ever. Just seems outrageously stale, narratively sparse, and routine as far as gameplay is concerned. The very definition of bargain bin. Of course, this could change once we, you know, play the game as intended from the start and get a feeling for it.

You mustn't be very good at it.

We were at a behind closed door presentation of the game with Cerny yesterday, and he said something very strange. They are aiming for a 40 (yes, 40) fps frame rate, using triple buffering. That's such a strange choice, since 40 fps simply isn't eye pleasing at all.

Looks fun.... Anyway it has Jennifer Hale doing the VO for one of the characters so at least one of them will sound good. ;)

I don't understand that at all. What a weird decision.

Hmm that's odd.

I think half people in this thread shitting on the game forgot it not appealing to you it aiming for younger kids....unless you are kids posting on this forum.

It looks to be a nice entry into action game for kids plus seems actually kind of fun to play imo might be getting this

Apparently God of War 3 also runs at about 40 fps. Cerny worked on that game as a consultant, not sure if it's a coincidence or what.

I assume he means that as the average framerate, I guess it'll just be unlocked. What a weird thing to aim for though.

This is looking epic, that mechanical level really looks awesome.

The person playing the last stage was ungodly awful though. Yup just keep haphazardly throwing projectiles at the chopper. Its working really well.
