GCN Controller not to be used in Zelda Wii.

Does anyone know how the shiewld works in the Wii version? Like, what button you push to block? Do you map it to a button like an item, is it tied to the shoulder button on the nunchuck? Something else?

POOR PEOPLE GO TO GAMECUBE

Just when you thought they were going after non-gamers and value hunters, apparently:

(And Ami, if the GCN version really WAS the way 'God intended', there wouldn't be a Wii version. Omnipotence, sovereignty, all that. Why do you think it kept getting delayed to the point of the Wii launch? Sorry, argument failed. :) )

Money. It's what motivates all Nintendo's decisions. But, uhm, nice try?

it does appear when you move the camera around it locks Link to looking straight ahead.

another thing that bugs me about the Wii version is the cursor never leaves when you're fighting enemies, and the fairy is there during cutscenes.

Daaaaaaaaamn, the game is so gorgeous in widescreen. :D

you people make me sick... you turn what should be a simple Zelda Wii love thread into an 11 page bitch fest

:(

**** the Gamecube Zelda, I'll play that on my Wii

The fact of the matter is, they should have had two options. Now I'm either stuck with choosing either the version with the controls I'm more comfortable with but inferior in every other aspect, or the version that is superior on all levels but the controls which could possibly ruin the whole experience. (not to mention the stupid pointer fairy which pisses me off)

I had some good gameplay sessions with the Wii Zelda TP at E3 -------- I don't think I'd ever want to play it without the new controller, it just worked so well and felt like an upgrade for a traditional adventure game like that. It offered everything a traditional controller would, and acted better in ways it needed to.

and not to mention all the items we don't know about yet, I'm assuming there will be plenty that take advantage of the controller --- I wouldn't be supprised to see many items that the Wii version has that the GCN simply won't, simply based on the new control.

just my $0.02

I guess I have to try it out with the Wii controller first, but when I was watching a gameplay video, it just looked painful to play with because the guy was fumbling around with it and it was over sensitive and it just seemed to suck the fun out, although the widescreen support may be enough to make me bite, but I don't know.

Didn't people find analog sticks difficult at first? I remember seeing some old SM64 "first impression" footage where the guy jerks around like a maniac because he's not used to the sensitivity of the analog stick.

Wait, what does that have to do with anything? Regardless of the reason, it was obviously 'God's intention' for Zelda TP to be played on the Wii, else it would not have been so.

Bow to His will, heretic.

(And as to that other guy with the bird picture: Why wouldn't I be? I can't really be bothered to get into the series if they're going to go all over the place with it.)

it was EXTREMELY sensetive, more than any other game at the show ------ mostly becasue the screen seemed devided into 4 vertical 'aiming' segments that navi repeated at (would appear at the other end of the screen if you went off of one end) ---- this made the aiming as sensetive as in aiming at a portion of the screen that was 1/4th the size ..... this might make more sense when the thing releases, all other games seemed 1 to 1 scale aiming like a laser pointer on the screen (so less sensetive)

but, that being said --- it took about 3 minutes to adjust, which is weeks (months/years/never) less than most people took adjusting to analog aiming.

Plus, you might be able to adjust the sensativity anyway.

Just watched some more TP videos for the Wii–**** it, I'm getting it for the Wii this fall.

I want to support GC but I want a Wii. :(

I hope Super Paper Mario comes out. I dont want my last GC game to be Geist.*

*It cost 9.99

your last Gamecube game should have been FIRE EMBLEM: PoR, or...hell... CHIBI ROBO

Wait, when was that "Gamestop ****s up new games" thread? Because we were agreeing in there, too! Third sign of the apocalypse?

Amir0x said:
oh yeah that was like two days ago or something. Not good at all.

Quick, Ami, head on over to the FF3 thread and post about what horrible painful pixellated visual rape it is. Then we can restore some semblance of order here.

in Wii version~~

i think there can choose different way to Control the game~

example:
you don't need use the pointer to Archery if you don't like..just use the analog sick~

So...

GC Zelda + GC remote + GC = True
GC Zelda + GC remote + Wii = True
GC Zelda + Wii remote + Wii = False
Wii Zelda + Wii remote + Wii = True
Wii Zelda + GC remote + Wii = False

Is this right?

Yeah.

Anyways, this is a bad move from Nintendo to sell both version of Twilight Princess: I will absolutely try with the Wiimote and with the GCN Controller too !
They are *******

Poor GC
Its almost as if Iwata wants to disreagrd it as a Bastard Child, spawned from a one night stand with Satan.

What was the last "NINTENDO" developed GC game?

You buy the collectors edition of Twilight princess, open the box and .... Its a GameCube disc. You start the game a screen comes up with: GCN version/Wii Version you select GCN version problem solved. I dont think Nintendo is going to waste money on releasing a seperate GCN version even the people who are shouting: I will never buy a Wii will still get it if the game is better then OOT/ALTTP.

You are fooling yourself if you don't think the Wii version became the lead kiosk last year. This can mean lots of things. Aonuma having the key launch title, game development and controller development on Wii definitely have mirror influence on each other.

Aonuma is going to kick everyone's ass.

man we get 11 pages debating the controlls before the game is even out. I can't wait for the review/release threads! :lol

some dude made fun of me on irc for thinking this would reach 15 pages :lol

I am not that off.

Damn people, stop being cheapskates and buy both versions!

REAL FANS buy all available versions.
Why would I rob my own wallet? Why would I buy a game I already own?

I'll get the Wii version.

I can't aim with sticks.

Yeah, its called rushed launch title FTL. :(

:p

Seriously though, I'm just glad this matter has been put to rest. This question has been around ever since they announced there would be 2 versions, even though its not exactly the answer I wanted, its nice to at least know. Both versions FTW. :D

I've decided I wont get Zelda. Just too many games this year, and Okami should fill in quite nicely.

I'll wait until the price goes down.

Your joke posts amuse me. Anihawk - possibily the biggest zelda fan wont get it :lol
