No he's a harbinger like Childe named Scaramouche. Baal has been confirmed a girl and named Raiden (some are speculating Raiden Mei from Honkai, since Sakura Yae from Honkai has also been revealed in leaks in Inazuma).

Welp, finished the event with just a little under 21000 for a total score. Ran the whole thing co-op with 2 friends minus the first run I did solo. I honestly had a ton of fun with this event, and I hope we see more of these challenging events that require teamwork and strategies again.
The triple boss fight was great when the damn Anemo boss wasn't being cheap as hell with that AoE death move and not spawning any crystals to create currents. It took us 4 tries to get a combo of team members/RNG luck. Once we made it past Anemo, we finished the other two very quickly. I ran my Diluc/Jean, then my friends brought Keqing and Chongyun for the winning run, all level 80, no maxed artifacts or talents for any of us.
I keep getting Jean in my standard banner wishes and she's actually at c4 now which makes her, in my opinion, the best multiplayer support character in the game. She buffs attack/movement speed of the whole group when she absorbs a particle, her Burst heals, cleanses, and provides Anemo debuff to enemies, she has great crowd control with her short cooldown skill, just a really strong multiplayer character. You can really feel the difference in attack speed with her buff for claymore users.

That's interesting - I got her (C0) and she didn't seem that useful in single player - she's like a cross between Noelle (heals group on attack), Barbara (burst heal), and Anemo Traveller (elemental obviously) with a small amount of Sucrose- except the active heals are not as good as Noelle, her ult is odd in the way it damages (enemies moving in or out ?), and the rest seems just ok. I couldn't really make the charged attack do anything useful except looking cool..
She's the best looking and best dressed character imo though.

Single player she's just as good as any of the healer characters, multi at C2 is where she really shines, I feel. If you have a full group of 4, she's essentially giving 15% attack and movement speed full time, heals 50% of all of her attacks (not just while an active skill is going on like Qiqi or Barbara), cleanses - which are really useful in challenging content and domains. She's like the Venti of healers in multi, as in any team gets better with her in it (provided you need heals for what you're fighting). The interesting thing about her charge attack is that if an enemy is floating from it, you can use her Eskill and actually "dribble" the enemies for 2x fall damage, which scales off of HP. It's stupidly strong in abyss and any enemy that can be floated with high HP numbers.

I mean, I'm AR48 and damn, last days I've been farming some artifacts and 99% of them are utterly garbage, cannot use a single one, all the roles are pretty damn horrible.
Then I look at reddit and find something like this and I'm like: how the fuck is this even possible?

The substats scaling will be slightly better based on rarity, but for the game to drop ATK%, Crit DMG, or Crit Rate substats, especially all together, are still quite abysmal. My guess that person used a lot of resin to keep farming the domain until they got the stats they wanted.Let's go Ning, but to accomplish my first C6

Thanks! I mean, 4 artifacts with 20% plus crit damage each is insanely lucky.
And here I stand happy enough if I can have at least a total some of 20% crit damage between all my five artifacts.

Nope, they're still terrible. Boss drops for gems/shards still suck as well. The only increase in better item drops that I've noticed is from random enemies from the over world. Not a major increase, but it's something I guess.
That said, I found the enemy difficulty increase from WL5 -> WL6 is pretty minimal.

I hope they do some sort of "Mei entered a time bubble" thing and became shogun .. but Wendy (Herrscher of Wind) was basically no-trap version of Venti so..Hot off the leaks press. If this is really Raiden (Baal), then it looks like it really might be Mei from Honkai Impact.

The sky is an illusion. I'm pretty sure what we see in the main menu is above the sky/stars. The end of Dragonspine hints at this even further, as the Nail that apparently fell from the sky and pierced the mountain is clearly one of the pillars from the main menu.
I think it's simply a multiple world thing (remember, the Traveler is from another world), with the 'main menu' being our entrance into each. That's my theory for now, at least.

Yeah, it's definitely an overworld part.
We also have a giant floating city(?) in the sky. Maybe it's also a part of the main menu world. Or it's simply a Death Star 2 that Ningg secretly built xD
All in all, we need better heroes in GI, I don't care from where they will come.

It does work for AE though. It was among the 30 top grossing mobile games (maybe only in Japan) last year, afaik. And P5 and Tales get some nice avertising.

Yeah, I totally agree that it helps with promotion an attracts new players.
MiHo for some reason is extremely stingy with 5☆ heroes/constellations in GI. Maybe theirs production pipeline is not there yet or they have same problems as Destiny engine had.
I can understand why they can be happy with current sales and players retention, but how sustainable it will be for them? How many people will stick with daily grind just to get nothing or close to nothing every month or two?

It's no different in honkai, rates are shit, everything is extremely expensive, banners/costumes run for even shorter times to induce more fomo and the amount of free currency is so incredibly stingy, you might get one whole ten pull in ~2 months.
Genshin might actually be a step up for mihoyo, but they haven't changed anything in honkai, so I doubt they are suddenly going to become f2p friendly for genshin.

Honkai is a very niche game with a small player base so they need to milk blood from that stone 24/7.
Genshin is targeted at a much more mainstream audience and is much more forgiving in it's gacha mechanics because they expect to make up for lower profits per whale on sheer volume of players of which some percentage will be whales. It's a completely different monetization philosophy when you're going for massive mainstream success instead of a niche audience.
Comparing the two, Genshin is an order of magnitude more F2P friendly than Honkai. A F2P player can pull Ganyu and immediately start dealing ridiculous amounts of damage with just the craftable 4* Prototype Crescent and some accessory farming effort. Meanwhile in Honkai, actually getting Herrscher of Thunder ready for use requires hundreds of US dollars, simply pulling the unit is useless.

That's not true at all, S rank rates in honkai are quite a bit higher than 5* rates in Genshin.
Also not true, s rankers are generally very powerful even without their specific equipment, calling HoT "useless" without her equipment is some kind of insane hyperbole; the game would be literally unplayable since vanilla HoT is stronger than 99% of vanilla s rankers in the game..maybe even 100%, there's also plenty of decent equipment that can be crafted for free, and if you're patient, you can even get premium equipment for free via BP Works.
The only difference in Genshin is that there's only 1 piece of specialised equipment, vs 4 in honkai, though the trade-off is the gutter trash rates in Genshin.
