Geoff Keighley teasing VGX/A

What does it mean....?

isn't it obvious? Old Rare franchises rising from the dead.

After last year's train wreck i'm not interested. VGA stood for the equal oscars in videogames where the industry could celebrate themself and then they ruined everything with VGX (i know SpikeTV kicked them out was the main reason). Now it's only a bunch of trailers and bad jokes.

Mass effect Next
Fallout 4
Deus Ex Next.

My body is not ready.

Oh god I want all of these so fucking bad. Even one of them showing up would make me happy.

Fallout 4, for the love of god please be there. I've been waiting for so long.

VGX, I guess? I hope Joel McHale comes back. Or maybe a new Doritos & Mountain Dew photoshoot?

I can't believe that after all this time this is still cracking me up so much.
This has to be one of my favourite videogame related pictures ever.
From how miserable he looks, and that cheap lighting, to the minimum-effort trashy way the dew&doritos have been set up next to him... It's so perfect!

I really wonder how people can really think there will be interesting reveals or announcement after VGX 2013. It was the most disappointing videogame releated event i watched ever.
OMG those rappers, WTH were they thinking

Oh and please dont hire a host who's constantly insulting gamers

You could say that about the entire event. The whole thing was just awkward from start to finish. Joel McHale's cynicism didn't help anything either, he was basically there to undermine the event. Though when I think about it, the whole event may have undermined itself without him anyway. I guess he was there to just say what was on everybody elses mind.

VGX 2013 was a disaster.

I am SO watching this. Sure, last year was glorious trainwreck [which was especially painful before year before last show was finally achieved "good" status], but I think there is no chance that Geoff will allow bad things to happen again.

Anyhow, I'm more interested in game reveals, and VGA/VGX was always good in that regard. Last year we got No Man's Sky, who knows what we will get this year.

What happened?

You don't remember him freaking out and getting mad at Sony? He was butthurt at the fact that the PS4 didn't have the ability to capture footage and some other stuff about Sony. Also I'm pretty sure he let out his rage out his inFamous Second Son review because it was pure bullshit.

I see... Don't remember that I guess. I do remember the "resolutiongate" fiasco regarding the PS4 though.

Idk for some reason I just feel sorry for him. I loved some of his reviews. And throwing the gaming industry aside, he just seems like such a super nice guy. Doesn't have anything to do with this discussion lol, but yeah.

Agree with Sessler hosting. Include Morgan Webb and everyone will go nuts! G4 reunion!

Metal Gear Rising 2, Kamiya please we need this..

I hope that Keighley and Gametrailers will get to do an online only show, and escape the chains of mainstream TV, which hopefully would allow them to do a more low-key and respectfull event instead.

Keighley is a great guy, and he so often gets the short end of the stick due to the format he is presenting on. I imagine that if he had total control over an event project, it would be much more in line with what the broader hardcore gaming community would actually want.

Ah now i remember how extremely awful the last VGA was. There was another events shortly after which was way better executed. Can't remember exactly (award show where Tearaway won some categories?)

If Fallout 4 then hopefully with new/better animations.

I wouldn't even care if they just vommed the game into the old engine. I need it right now!

Sounds like a snoozefest. Joel McHale/an equivalent hilarious person or riot.

Last year was so, so bad. The guy working with Keighley looked like he was on the verge of just calling everyone watching a neckband a nd just walking of the whole show

I wonder who will even attend. Sony has traditionally been a big backer of the VGX, with them premiering Uncharted and TLoU there, but they have their own event this year, so I don't see why they'd want to share airtime with competing games.

Other big publishers were mia last year, and given VGX's bad reception last year, I see even less reason for them to waste their time this year.

I see a bunch of indie projects premiering at the VGX, maybe one or two games from a big publisher, and that's it.

Lol oh Geoff.

Rise - Ryse? Rise in Last Guardian will rise from the dead? I really don't care for these cryptic clues he gives out on Twitter. Always a let down.

I've watched this every year for the last 4 years. After the train wreck that was last years show I'll probably give this a miss and just pick up on the news the next morning.

Ah shit, who am I kidding, I'll end up watching it anyway.

The past year VGX was the first time I saw the entire show (I really don't care about it until the Dark Souls 2 reveal in 2012)... never again. It was beyond awful.

I just hope they don't don't take on the good words the games BAFTAs received. That is so dull and stuffy that I had to turn it off while I watched all of VGX for Joels antics. The BAFTAs already exist for those that want them, this should be very similar to last years effort with a little more polish.

Hope it will not suck like last year, man that was sooo horrible...

Even if they weren't the best things I saw in my life, the VGA with Barney Stinson and the officer Tenpenny were fun to watch and they were some cool reveals. With McHale, it wasn't funny and the content was awful, No Man's Sky was the only exception (oh and I liked Cranky Kong).

If it will not be on television, I fear the worst.
