ROTJ was sexist confirmed

There were more female rebel fighters during the Death Star Assault but were not shown, and the one female pilot who did make it through was dubbed with a male voice
Pretty sure Landos little co-pilot was female.

Watching a deleted scene for ROTJ

There was a sequence the Emperor calls to General Veers in the command center of the Death Star, it sounded like a cell phone, asking him to blow up Endor if for some reason the rebels manage to destroy the shield generator

Moff Jerjerrod.

Thank you.

There was some footage of a Mon Calamari rebel pilot saying a lot of quirky dialogue, could've been an outtake

Some other footage of a lot of interior Falcon stuff with crews running back and forth in the halls, fixing shit, and even operating the gun turrets from ANH

I really like the Jerjerrod deleted scenes. but I can see why they didn't make the cut... way too much shit going on at the end of Jedi as it is.

Cut the Ewoks.

If you edit RotJ to only be the bits featuring Luke, its great, all the other stuff is what makes it the worst of the OT(and closer in quality to the PT then most would admit).

Jerjerrod was an idiot, he was like all arrogantly, you are not allowed through to fucking Darth Vader who can kill this guy with his mind

The Jerjerrod and sandstorm scenes were the two I was looking most forward to seeing. Thanks, Youtube!

Technically the Moffs outrank Vader. Tarkin talked down to him as well. He's just the Emperor's assistant.

It doesn't make sense in context when you see the same guy near the beginning when he "gulps" in fear when Darth Vader arrives

I have a perfectly good older model Ferrari. This new one has a better engine but the previous owner has scratched the shit out of the bodywork.

Better engine. Also better suspension, better handling, seat warmers and a kick ass stereo system. Seriously, you should hear the sound on this thing! It's a thing of beauty. Plus it comes with a hot blonde who's shown me all kinds of things I've never experienced. Scratched the shit out of the bodywork is a gross overstatement, it's just got a couple of dents in the fender. You cringe when you see them but once you're cruising down the open road at hyper speed with a hot blonde by your side you tend to forget them.

Have we exhausted this metaphor yet? lol

What's terrifying is when you realize that this guy's ideas aren't any worse than the changes Lucas is actually making, Lucas just has more resources.

Oh definitely. If someone told me these changes would be in the 3d release, I would not doubt that for a second.

Didn't she have a real problem with cocaine during that time?
With many things.

[edit]Bipolar disorder and drug problems
Fisher has publicly discussed her problems with drugs, her struggle with bipolar disorder, and her overcoming an addiction to prescription medication, most notably on ABC's 20/20 and The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive with Stephen Fry for the BBC. She discussed her new memoir Wishful Drinking and various topics in it with Matt Lauer on NBC's Today on December 10, 2008.[26] This interview was followed by a similar appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on December 12, 2008 where she discussed her electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) treatments.[27] She has said that she receives ECT every six weeks to "blow apart the cement" in her brain.[28] Fisher spoke about Wishful Drinking on NPR's Talk of the Nation on December 16, 2008.[29] She also spoke about her life and troubles on the NPR quiz show Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! on January 31, 2009.

[edit]Cocaine addiction
While in Sydney, Australia, Fisher revealed in another interview that she had a cocaine addiction during filming of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and also survived an overdose. "Slowly I realized I was doing a bit more drugs than other people and losing my choice in the matter" she said in an interview.[31][32]

Supposedly she starting doing the coke during the filming of Empire, and this special took place before they even had the story for Empire sewn up, they are even seen commenting what could be in Empire they have no idea, not even Lucas himself, he even sounds like he was thinking at first to pair Luke and Leia in the coming movies

Do you ever see the planet that Endor is a moon of in RoTJ?

This would be correct, according to Wikipedia.

Yeah, it was from RCA (IIRC), pretty short lived, I found a copy of Airplane in CED, I was tempted to pick it up since it was 3 bucks and it was right after Bridges died, but alas I didn't have enough free space at the time.

Got a link?

Thinking about it; I am not that upset at the changes to the film. It's been happening since 1997. I've either stopped caring or I've become so desensitized, I don't know. The things I really cared about (deleted scenes) are readily available online, as are cleaned up versions of the original trilogy. I'm sure I'll pick up a used copy somewhere....

Wow. ... Selectavision. That brings back memories. Had Star Wars, Airplane and Raiders of the Lost Ark and some old Bond movies I think. Should have saved it.

Been watching the special features. There are a heckuva lot of Dennis Murren interviews. Why does he keep popping up? Give me somebody more interesting.

Be happy it's not WETA, otherwise with Richard Taylor, you would have to keep playing around with the volume.

Kidding aside. Murren, did play a key role at ILM, so it kind of makes sense, but I get your point.

Haha that's pretty awesome. Do you have the player too?
Naw, it was a random goodwill find. I'm guessing it's close to VHS quality but not sure, it's great to have such an awkward/sexy collector's item though.

I started watching my '04 ESB dvd, and it's still unbelievably good. This is what happens when Lucas gives control to talented filmmakers, folks.

Watching a Return of the Jedi documentary that revolves around Creatures in movies, there is a dedicated section devoted to the Jabba band, they even show us the english translated version of the song and dance sequence... interesting but the final product in the 1997 SE versions and going forward was just ugh

In the same creature documentary they talk about the Jabba creature, and how although Jabba was designed for ROTJ, he was intended to be briefly shown in the first Star Wars ANH but Lucas rejected the idea because he thought that Jabba didn't look bad or mean enough

Narrated by the incomparable Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher

WTF are you talking about?

The Battle of Endor is the greatest thing to ever grace the silver screen

I assume you mean the space battle? If so it is awesome. If you mean the Ewok fighting scene? It really does lower the impact of those other final scenes. It's such a horrible choice. You have these amazing epic scenes of Luke's struggles and the huge space battle, then you have little cute animals running around beating what are supposed to be trained soldiers. It's just silly and affects the other two due to how the 3 are cut.

Wookies would have made so much more sense.

I dunno... it's based on the Vietnam war, and Lucas was interested in the appeal of a greatly underpowered enemy defeating a mighty technological Empire. In that sense I think the Ewoks represent the Vietnamese underdogs better than Wookie warriors who can "rip your arms off."
