Ghostbusters Is Back!

That tech demo looked so cool. Ghostbusters has the potential to be such an awesome game...

Someone hunt down those videos and post them ftw.

tech demos that looked like it was using the Gears of War engine (over the shoulder gameplay... beautiful environments... just an empty feel tho).

Still... I'd love to see a link of some sort.

Edit:

Driving sequence via YouTube... there are more... I just did a quick search.

A new Ghostbusters game is exciting news in and of itself but...

Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are getting back together to make a sequel to Ghostbusters 1 and 2 – in video-game form, and we’ve got the first details. The three are teaming up for scriptwriting and voice and are going far beyond just the typical licensed add-your-voice-to-the-game-you-had-nothing-to-do-with formula.

Is a fucking megaton in my eyes.

i'll believe it when I see it though. Murray won't even do a third movie, I doubt he'll do a videogame.

I could have sworn I read a few days ago that it was officially dead or atleast the version from those videos posted a while back.

I love the Ghostbusters franchise...I'm still a little pissed that they haven't released The Real Ghostbusters on DVD yet. The two or three episodes on that GB double pack were a total tease.

What would be really cool is if this game turned into Ghostbusters 3, instead of making another movie with a bunch of overweight 50-somethings. Well Ramis and Aykroyd are getting beefy at least.

Well he's totally against being in another Ghostbusters movie, but I think he's more lax on things where he doesn't have to show his face (like Garfield). So I can see how he gets roped into doing it.

I just hope A)It's like the old C64 game, where you have to drive around the city to different gigs and B) It's as funny as the first movie.

Co-Op would be awesome. I don't like that the ghosts would "die" by being hit with the proton gun. It should require a teammate to actually drop a trap down. That would be sick.

What exactly about "Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are getting back together to make a sequel to Ghostbusters 1 and 2 – in video-game form" does not constitute "seeing it"? This isn't a rumor, it's a cover story.

I just remembered the medics in TF2, with their proton packs.

They should totally go for that visual style. It would be amazing, and bring back memories of the old cartoons.

Imagine it ends being like Rock Band, where they actually sell proton pack and ghost trap controllers.

Holy shit this is awesome. Especially the news that those three will be in the game. I've seen the original over 40 times! It never gets old.

fuck yes.

I'm crying. Right now. If only you could see.

The music when they pull up in front of the crowd before going to the building at the end always gets me a little misty eyed. Also when they first see the Stay Puffed MM Man gets me a little worked up.

I don't know what system they have in mind, but if done right, this could be an awesome wii game...

If the rest of the original rumor is true, there's two completely different Ghostbusters games coming out. I'm assuming one would be 360/PS3 and the other would be Wii.

......That would be so AWESOME. Let it be online too just in case some people don't have many real friends. Strange no one thought of this before. Last time I played a ghostbuster was on a handheld tiger game.

This is perfect. I grew up with the Ghostbusters franchise, and now it's coming to my favorite medium. If Akroyd, Ramis and Murray are actually involved it'll likely be good.

I see in the corner of the cover it (or something else Ghostbusters) is coming to PS2 and Wii as well.
Aiming with the wiimote and rumbling as hell when you catch a ghost? Win!

Excuse me if I find it hard to believe Bill Murray would be deeply involved in writing a script for a videogame based on a film property in which he refused to portray his character for a third time.

Hey, if it's true, that's great and hopefully the game will be fantastic. But I'll remain a skeptic about how involved Murray really is--the other two I'm not quite as surprised about their involvement.
