They don't need to.
They just think they do.
Right, they shouldn't have to feel that way. But in this climate, I don't think it's unreasonable because so many people are acting like clowns.

Spy was awesome. but this looks like crap. Not because they are women.

They don't have to feel that way. They let themselves feel that way.
Better than the first trailer. In the same vain as saying chipping a tooth is a lot "better" than losing one.
Feels like this will be the Pixels of 2016.
Yup totally agreeInstead of trying to hitch a ride to an old bandwagon they should have created their own unique thing - don't call it Ghostbusters, use a new name, logo, film setting. Don't use the same catch cries (who ya gonna call?) AND most important of all create an all new theme.
The smartest thing Man of Steel did was attempt to establish it's own identity by not using the classic Superman march. Granted that remake/imagining also failed to hit the mark, but at least they didn't rely on the past like this crap reboot is attempting to do.
Also what's with the slapstick humor ?
Ghostbusters was never about cheap laughs, the laughs in the original movie and GB 2 were not in your face slapstick, but rather clever subtle humor.
Did my part. Downvoted.
The problem with this shit is the fact that they tried to find the female equiv's of the original cast. They literally act as it is some homage to the original movie which it comes of as insulting.
This has nothing to do about a female cast.
It looks horrible and unfunny. It's going to bomb

So that's my final words on the matter.
Did you do that to every shit trailer you ever saw ?
Because the problem is not the ratio itself ... it is how it compare to other shit trailers and movies that "ruined childhoods"
It is not insecurity to not want to be labelled as a misogynist, that is a ridiculous statement and you know it.
If someone labelled you as a rapist or anything else that would be considered slanderous would you suggest people reacting towards these accusations in a negative way would be insecurity?
This is the typical thing I am reading and it's getting ridiculous now, we have gone from people being sexist, to now articles claiming people are being unconsciously sexist to now people saying if you do not wish to be labelled as a sexist you are insecure lol or "Doth protest too much" as you put it.
Basically all bases covered ey? What's the end game here for people? Basically allow others to claim that whoever dislikes this movie is sexist and continue with that bullshit unchallenged?
Because you know what happens then right? "It's so obvious the people who are disliking this movie are sexist, they aren't even arguing against people calling them out as sexists...GUILTY!"
It's bullshit pandering nonsense as far as I am concerned and people bullying others into feeling like they cannot have an opinion on this movie without it being gender motivated.
I am literally done talking about it now, from this point forward it is going to be simple, I will be talking about the movie and not about the underlying political drive behind it or any of the sexism arguments because it is pretty clear to me that people want to use this movie as a tool to beat others with even when they are not a part of the very small number of idiotic man children who choose to dislike it simply because it has women in the lead roles.
So that's my final words on the matter.
that sort of humor isn't really attractive to mainstream audiences.
I'm not sure this is a great argument to make considering the sheer amount of comedies on television and in theaters enjoying acclaim and ratings success by employing smartass, dry humor.
Not to mention that kind of humor has already been proven to be attractive to mainstream audiences, which is why Ghostbusters was such a success in the first place, and why the second movie, which moved away from that sense of humor, wasn't.
Part of my statement was that the humor was a product of the era. Maybe it wasn't clear, but when I said mainstream audiences, I meant current audiences.
Bob Chipman wrote a book saying that the 16-bit console war was the equivalent of Vietnam. But Bob Chipman said nobody's going to be able to properly assess the quality of this film for at least five years!
I know what you meant. I addressed that specifically by pointing out the amount of successful movies and TV shows that share similar comedic sensibilities.
I disagree with the premise that mainstream audiences of today are somehow less sophisticated in their comedy tastes than those of 1984, especially considering how many modern comedians were influenced by the comedy styles of late 70s-early 80s SNL.
It's also a little early to say that sort of humor isn't present in Ghostbusters. Granted, we haven't seen it yet, but it's also the kind of humor you can't really cut into trailers very effectively.
So that's my final words on the matter.
Guess not. Roflmao.
Bob Chipman wrote a book saying that the 16-bit console war was the equivalent of Vietnam.
He wrote a book about Super Mario Bros 3.Bob Chipman wrote a book?
Looking at twitter yesterday was really disheartening. I can understand not liking what we've seen so far. (terrible first trailer) But the vitriol towards it to me is unfounded.
God of Egypt for example, the trailer looked shit (more so than the first GB one) but did I dislike it? did I spam my opinion around everywhere I saw it? did I make a video about how I'm not going to see it? No. I closed my browser tab and moved on.
l
Not bad, this trailer is a lot better than the first one.
