Ghostbusters Trailer 2

Kristen Wiig being dragged out of that restaurant reminded me of her freak out scene in MacGruber, I laughed reflexively at that. I chuckled at the end bit too. Neither trailer has been really great but I'm just not seeing how this project is generating so much negativity. I go to the theatre a lot and I saw trailers for Eddie the Eagle a few times and that made me want to drive my head into the seat in front of me.

The vitriol this movie is generating is inexplicable to me. I've seen so, so much worse.

I like MacGruber more than Ghostbusters 1, so verbally berate me if you need to.

The original Ghostbusters was not a parody? Or am I missing the point of what you are saying (if I am then I apologise.)

Not a parody, you're right, and I feel I lack the right word in English; it was a comedy with a very derisive tone, and it looks like the new one tries to keep these roots, and add more wink-wink humour. That's why, for me, the trailers look pretty dumb, and lacking of any kind of charm.

I may not like the new trailer at all, but the like-to-dislike ratio is ridiculous. Typical internet behaviour. Pretty embarrassing really.

I'm looking forward to this! Maybe I'm biased because I think Wiig, McKinnon and Jones are three of the funniest people on the planet. People's hate is out of control for this thing.

Heard Eddie and the eagle was good but I haven't seen it

Well Star Wars The Force Awaken had some of the most disgusting and awful comments from sites like "Return of kings" and the "Red pill", they even organized a "boycott", and IMO the stuff that came from those sites was way worse than anything on Ghostbusters.

However the Star Wars fanbase is huge and heterogeneous, so all the "cuck staff" shenanigans fell flat and was quickly forgotten, also the campaign for Star Wars was brilliant, with great trailers and awesome marketing. Ghostbusters have a more homogenous fanbase and so far the trailers have been bad and the marketing a disaster.

Oh yeah.

Bunch of fucking assholes.

Much better trailer that makes the movie look pretty decent I think. Not great by any means but not that terrible. Leslie Jones simply saying "I'm mad as hell" makes me laugh and I really like the cast as a whole but there's just not a feeling of good or original comedy here. I'll likely go see it anyway because why not, there's going to be worse movies this year.

This is... I don't know how to describe how idiotic this is.

That is the most ridiculous article I have read on the matter.

Not only is it judgemental and dismissive it also makes the assumption that this movie is "for women" because of the casting which is in itself sexist towards both men and women and then goes on to assume that men are the only people who dislike this.

I have seen plenty of women on YouTube alone making passionate statements about their dislike of this movie because it isn't like the originals, I wonder if that means it's their unconscious sexism speaking?

That article is not only insulting to women it is slanderous towards men, I am not sure how he managed to achieve that all in the same article but he has.

How is the casting of this film sexist towards men...let alone women?

Edit: I think I misread. Proceed.

Don't really get people criticizing the Like/Dislike ratio, this shit looks legit terrible.

I almost mashed the Dislike button myself.

Did you do that to every shit trailer you ever saw ?

Because the problem is not the ratio itself ... it is how it compare to other shit trailers and movies that "ruined childhoods"

I don't want to watch the whole thing, but he says that?

I'm four minutes in, and he hasn't yet. He seems to just be saying he knows he's biased and knows he won't like the movie, so he won't be seeing it. Mostly complaining about how it seems to have nothing in common with the previous movies and is just another remake trying to piggy back on the popularity of the name.

EDIT: He seems to have taken an odd offense to them having never made a true GB3. But, he's totally level headed throughout, and I never heard him say anything about this movie pissing on his childhood.

why do all the characters act like Disney animated characters when making expressions and comments?

Still looks like Scooby Doo. Still unfunny.

Ugh they're trying too hard to be a comedy and its falling flat on its face. The originals had a perfect subtlety to it without having to sell out to these tropes.

These comments most accurately depict what I get from the trailers. Whereas the original movie felt more grounded and real, despite the supernatural premise, this one plays out more like a kid's cartoon. It just doesn't have the same appeal.

The REAL Ghostbusters > The movie Ghostbusters. At least story wise.

I'm really liking that wispy, neon effect on the ghosts.

I just watched this really cool little indie horror film called Ava's Possessions and it had a neon motif. It was gorgeous and really made it stand out.

Mainstrean Film has really started to strive for colour realism and/or grim dark so it's exciting to see such a colourful neon motif

Better than trailer 1, but the absence of most of the terrible jokes from the first trailer doesn't make me feel confident that they won't be in the final movie, but apparent'y they're giving the whole thing a dramatic re-editing so who knows. Some stuff looks okay, only the standard levels of bad you get from big budget movies these days. But the rest is super bad.
Still probably not going to watch it.

Rowan (the Stay Puft looking thing) is pretty cool looking.

Visually I think this movie looks on fucking point. Just hoping for a better, legitimately funny script.

Meh im still not digging it. Humor was all very flat for me. Ghost designs are really cool though. Shouldn't have put the Hemsworth twist in the trailer, unless it turns out to be a really minor thing/red herring for something else.

Well this trailer is better than the first one. Really think they should have led with this trailer, the first trailer seemed like a bunch of bad jokes and not a lot of promise. This one did leave a little bit of mystery in the trailer (what happens to Chris Helmsworth character). The ghosts also look better in this trailer.

Want to see this a little more now than I did before. Still probably won't go to the theater unless my wife asks to. Hopefully the Blu-Ray hits before Halloween.

I enjoyed this trailer. Not expecting the film to be great but I hope it's at least as good as spy was last year. It looks like dumb fun
which is really all the first movie was anyway!

Wait, do you think 'dumb male secretary' is a sexist stereotype? Uhhh. What?
It kind of is, a guy that wants to be a Ghostbuster but cant because he is dumb.
But, its not only that character but the black taxists too.
The movie still looks kind of intriguing.

The visuals look on fucking point, but honestly this movie just isn't for me. Have no nostalgia for the originals and this trailer does nothing for me. While it looks great the jokes just kinda fall flat and seem "too in your face" like it's trying hard to be funny.

Either way you could show me a trailer for the original movie and I still probably wouldn't go see it. Just not my type of movie.

I hope those that do go see it enjoy themselves and it does well. Nothing looks offensively bad about this. So hopefully it sees success.

I didn't like Bridesmaids and I didn't like Spy. They lacked any charisma or pacing.

As Max Landis said, this doesn't look like Ghostbusters. It reminds me more of the live action Scooby Doo.

It doesn't look awful at all. I can think of a dozen other remakes that were more offensive than this but bullshit internet hate culture has made this one a target.

I feel like the humour is off. I'm usually pretty easy to entertain for the most part but I'm definitely not feeling this. Thor's character is already annoying and I've only seen like 2 videos featuring him.

I'm liking the look of the film and I'm really digging the new theme tune. The "hate" recent YouTube videos have been getting lately is just stupid and just pointless

There are people hating on this for nefarious reasons and then you get the whole internet hate machine involved that are just disliking it simply just to do it because it's the "cool" thing to do.

Still don't think it's that funny but I still like the look and the CG and all that. The ghosts all look nice and it's got a lot of colour and I like that.
