Star Wars: Imperial Commando, a sequel to Republic Commando, would have put the player in control of an Imperial assault team, but never made it out of the conceptual phase of development
I read somewhere that he didn't really care then? I hear they just told Lucasarts to 'not lose money'.I wonder how much influence he had on all the great Lucas arts adventure games.
Fuck it Bring back Darth Vader as a clone at the end of episode 8
Hah, I guess that's one way to run a compamyI read somewhere that he didn't really care then? I hear they just told Lucasarts to 'not lose money'.
That was indeed pretty amazing of him. How many other billionaires would ever do that.I feel bad for George. The man was(?) a very talented director in his youth. I think his fame might have ruined him for himself. But giving 4 billion dollars to charity was amazing. He will always have my respect.
4 Billion dollars is such a staggering amount to give away, that only a few like Bill Gates can touch and go beyond that. You can make all the shitty films you want or be entitled and obtruse when you do that. It doesnt make the prequels amazing or George Lucas redeemed as a filmmaker, but I still can't get over how massively crazy it is. And how right it is to do.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD.Luke S.

I love this argument. Listen, I think the prequel trilogy have many many failings. Episode 2 is a rare example of a film I hate, but the prequel trilogy were popular with kids and sold boat loads of toys. That is one of the main reasons why Disney bought the franchise, however you might feel about that.
There are elements in the prequel trilogy that were aimed at older audiences. Those spectacularly fail. But the movies were also meant to win over young audiences and push large amounts of merchandise to them. If that was a simple thing to do... well you wouldn't see numerous people completely fail to do it.
There is much Lucas is deservedly criticized for. There is much he should still be given credit for. As pieces of entertainment for children, whether you think children should like them or not, they sure appear to have worked. They were technical achievements. They helped change how movies were shot and screened.
They were not, by any stretch of the imagination, good pieces of cinema... but the narrative that George is totally crazy and was never any good in the first place (or lost all his talent in the process) is a highly flawed one.
And yes, Starkiller is a dumb name that he originally came up with but he also rejected it for the less terrible Skywalker (which is still a dumb name). Presumably because it was dumb. It is dumber than Darth Insaneous in my opinion. I never said it was as bad as Darth Icky, just that it was nearly as bad.
I don't see why anyone would want to pay tribute to a terrible name like Starkiller.

I like to imagine Georgia Lucas as a real-life Hodor from Game of Thrones. World's greatest idiot savant.
I find it really strange that Lucas sold Star Wars to Disney in the first place. He's clearly a massive control freak about the franchise, can't stand the idea that anyone could do any aspect better than him, and doesn't need the money... I'm surprised he ever let it go.
A billion dollar payday is still a billion dollar payday.

Maybe that is why he let it go. Because he felt he needed to stay away.
I saw an interview with him where he said that after Return of the Jedi, he went back to just being a stay-at-home dad and raise his daughter. Nothing wrong with that.
In all those years, Star Wars kept being what defined him. As fun as Star Wars was/is, people got way into that shit, and personally I can easily imagine how your ego might be inflated to extreme levels over the years. Particularly when you are only surrounded by "yes, george people". People in Hollywood doesn't give a shit. they say what they think important people wanna hear.
That is why it is hard for small upcoming directors to deal with big name actors. They all have this god complex that just develops in people because everyone acts so fucking unnatural around them.
There is no guidebook, for how not to let money or insufferable constant padding on the back turn you into a monster.
Not everyone is like this, but there is too many people in Hollywood who turn into mystified type assholes.
It seems like that began with Marlon Brando and it just became an actor thing.
The EU really got out of hand. I didnt even know there was an EU past the Dark Forces games. Goodness, that a lot of wasted resources to flesh out something that really wasn't necessary to flesh out. I gotta give it up to the fanboys. They're loyal.

They were also told not to mention Force Unleasheds protagonist, Starkiller.
Atleast this part isn't crazy.
I only played the first Force Unleashed but I liked him. They did a good job with him!
The Star Wars, a comic book adaptation of Lucas' rough draft screenplay for the first film.
I heard Kevin Smith talk about Bruce Willis, and it made me sad to hear that he was such a bully. Because Bruce Willis always has been one of my favorite heroes. He has also always been amazing on talkshows.
It works for some like Darth Bane.
Omg he's not canon anymore either...
Actually he still is! See the series finale of the Clone Wars.
There are two sides to that story. The other is that Kevin Smith clearly had no idea what he was doing when it came to the action scenes (by his own admission all he's good at is dialogue, and that is evident in all of his movies) and that pissed Willis off since he's used to directors who actually know a thing or two directing actions movies, hence why he gave Smith such a hard time.
When you encounter a lack of expertise in real life, do you become a raging asshole? Would you do that to a colleague or arguably, your boss?
Has anyone besides Kevin Smith confirmed Willis' diva antics on set? Serious question here, I didn't read much about the whole ordeal.
Now I want to see Darth Icky.

Darth Icky
Were Darth Gross and Dark Badguy already taken?
