laughed out loud!If only they stoped calling them 'Nindies', it sounds like a brand of diapers to me.

Looks like they're philosophy currently is to have fewer devs and support them really well. If they gave out a ton of devkits, support would have bee stretched thin. Sucks for those who didn't get selected, but it ensures a consistent high quality library on the e shop.Yeah, Zeboyd not having heard back from Nintendo kinda sucks. Hope they fix that fast.
I'm ALL for a little curation to avoid the platform to go the Steam and Appstore route, but if this curation is preventing content like Cosmic Star Heroine from reaching Switch players, then fuck that.

Agree.
I guess Damon Baker got the message regarding Cosmic Star Heroine from all the replies to his latest tweet about that specific game.
I'm tempted to counter this by saying that wide releases of indie games tend to be shelf warmers at most retailers, but given the pitiful amount of releases filling Switch shelves for the forseeable future, maybe that's exactly what they need. Having the appearance of a broad library that fills out some decent real estate at retail is an important prognosticator for the future health of your system, and at the rate we're going with third-party support, Switch games ain't gonna come close to filling up a sizable chunk of a case at retailers by the holidays unless they're double and triple-facing games.Obligatory post I'll make in basically every thread about Switch and indies:
Nintendo should treat those indies to support for getting their games physical releases. I'll happily buy games digitally eventually if it comes down to it (Snipperclips is a good example), but I'm much more likely to be there to support them sooner if the games that feel like fits for the Nintendo platform (like Fast RMX, Shovel Knight, Yooka-Laylee, etc.) get a premium physical release like Nintendo's own games do.
Especially true now that Switch is portable and I expect that my wife and I will own two to make the experience much more convenient. I don't want to have to rebuy games digitally to share them.
Eh, I like their games and I wish Zeboyd, as with any passionate indie developer, all the luck in the world... But Zeboyd's assets and artwork are distinctly on the amateurish side, even by indie standards.I hope people at Nintendo would be able to google Zeboyd Games and see Cosmic Star Heroine, a game completely at odds with everything you said.

It's a big jump from their previous games, no doubt, buuuut I'm afraid the comment stands.Maybe their previous efforts, but they stepped up their game big time with Cosmic Star Heroine.

they post on gaf, manners etc.Dunno much about Zeboyd Games, but why is Nintendo's support of indies being shat on because they failed to support this one developer? Or has it happened to other devs as well?

Where's rocket league?
Well let's get going then! Where's Gungeon? You don't have to open the floodgates, but can you crack them open just a little?

Also wants to try and get games coming out on the PC, PS4, and Bone at the same time on the Switch vs 6 months after the usual platforms.
But then real trash like Vroom in the Night Sky makes it over? I am not quite sure what their curation standards are.
Only words until Nintendo tackles the big ones like Rocket League and The Witness.
Niddohg WILL be big if launched on the Switch, you can write that down.
Nintendo is meeting indie studios at EGX Rezzed at the end of this month as part of the indie effort

Adelmann did amazing considering how hamstrung he was by NCL's dumb policies.Baker is twice the man Adelmann will ever be. #Nindies
Playstation did this in the beginning too, seems to have toned down a bit though...
maybe good for the launch of your system and then ROI starts to dry up when the market is flooded with so many games.
I think Sony should really make PSP2, that's b/c with Vita/PSP of course, seems like the handheld market really is here to stay.

Cosmic Star Heroine has a pretty unpolished look to it imo. No surprise Nintendo doesn't want it as a showcase game.

Exactly, the high profile indie games like inside and the witness are missing. You only see the "Nintendo-like" ones being announced, the games that would resonate with Nintendo fans but not the more "serious" indie games.
Serious indie games like ...Rocket League? I feel like Rocket League would really, really resonate with Nintendo fans. I love Nintendo games, but Rocket League is one of my favourite games of the past few years. I would love a Switch version.
The Witness seems like a good fit too. I think a lot of us like puzzle solving.
