There was a TON. Marketing out the wazoo, which is probably what made the release date so rigid to begin with.
US I'm assuming?

It happens with movies and television as well. Low first week numbers are very unusual to bounce back from.Video games are in a fucked up place when you're a commercial failure after a week.
Grow up.Ugh.
Fucking hate tweets like that. Makes me not want buy the game.
People should note that this is an opinion piece and that we don't have any hard numbers on sales figures.
Ugh.

Seems like a trend with them at this point. On one hand EA definitely fucked Respawn over. A truly dumb move.
lmaoEA - whose Star Wars Battlefront made a serious dent last year - wanted to prove itself the big swinging dick of that market this year.

The tweets they're sending out makes me think it was Respawn that chose the date not EA lolOn one hand EA definitely fucked Respawn over. A truly dumb move.
On the other hand, tweets like that one from the TF account are truly classless, and perpetuate this industry being tacky and childish.
I can't believe they released it when they did, it's like EA wanted it to fail.

I'm obviously being hyperbolic but I just find stuff like really petty and lame.
I think it's EA that runs the Titanfall account. They @ Respawn as if they are separate entities. The tweets they're sending out makes me think it was Respawn that chose the date not EA lol

I'm not sure why, it's the same for films, they have a budget to make back. Games unlike films thoight don't really get a second breath on another format when they come out again digitally and physically. Games are generally front loaded and most series sell a large percentage of their total in the first week. It would be nice if it had legs because it is apparently quite a good game, but Respawn will mostly likely know how well it is going to go for the rest of the holidays at this point.
No one played SF1 so not alot of damage was done
Lots of people played Titanfall 1 and felt burned. Same thing is happening with watch dogs 2 looking like a sales disappointment. The same might happen to destiny 2.

Hope it keeps selling poorly so it drops to $35 on Black Friday
It's an uphill battle after a Xbox-exclusive game with MP only to suddenly try to change the perception of the brand and product to be marketable to PS4 and PC players who are also interested in singleplayer.

But guys! EA just said they'll be making more Titanfall games...

I think Titanfall 2 will be a commercial success by the time the holiday season is over, based on my short playtime.
Grow up.
The first game being an Xbox Exclusive damaged this IP.
Yea, that's definitely not the case. Battlefield is a WELL established series. Didn't Battlefield 4 sell like 13-15 million copies? Respawn wished it could sell that many copies of TitanFall.I still think it's a case of EA not being confident in BF1 and thinking Titanfall 2 was safer in the current climate of shooters. Even in the marketing, BF1 info was stepping on TF2's coverage as news hit.
