GI July Cover Revealed: Infamous 2

Psyched for more inFamous, but I'm not feeling that Cole redesign at all. At least before he was just an everyman, but he didn't look like the video game version of an everyman.
 
I can't be the only one to see it.

Insomniac needs to put out something this year and there's no way that they're going to release it near Killzone 3. I also highly doubt that their multiplatform title is ready for release this year. Infamous 2 is probably summer 2011 and Killzone 3 is clearly Q1 2011.

Of course that still leaves Motorstorm 3, Man Furismo Jive and LittleBigPlanet 2 for this year,
I suspect we won't be seeing The Last Guardian untill March 2011. :(


Considering the game is probably going to use an all new engine chances are pretty good that it will look significantly better.

Didn't play inFamous.

I must be one of the few who likes the new look though. The character didn't really click with me before.

Hope the game is less drab than the demo of the first suggested.

Also: omg! Sony won't have any games for e3! Shit e3 confirmed! Etc. etc.

i guess it's the year of the "first party published and ip owned although developed by third parties and so considered by some people not to be third party games" sequel!

good thing i clarified that for everyone who didn't grasp my meaning

He still has his bag so everything is fine.

maybe it isn't Cole.... I couldn't care less what he looks like though tbh, just been playing the original again and its great fun.

They still have plenty to show at E3, even if its just awesome sequences like Uncharted 2 last year.

Wait actually, could it be
original Cole/Kessler from the original timeline, something like that would make sense.

I didn't like the look of the main character in infamous before;

1. This is a new character, why didn't they make him more different (More interesting)
2. If this is till Cole, how come he's as bsterile and boring looking as before, but in another way?
 
Why does every E3 presser need to have an announcement? Isn't a live demonstration good enough? Or how about first gameplay debut? It's not like we'll be seeing the game in motion via Game Informer, are we?

Cover art looks wonky, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt after the first game. The original Cole was never a shining example of character design. It definitely seems to be hinting at more color in general for this next city, which is not a bad thing per se.

Can't wait for the trailer. Damn does Sucker Punch make killer trailers.
 
the redesign isn't gonna keep me awake at night. old cole was bland as fuck anyway, this is a marginal improvement if only because he wont sound like a complete arsehole. i'm sure the game will be excellent.

Starhawk hasn't officially been announced...that's probably, what they consider, their big surprise.

I figure games like KZ3 and I2 are fully expected, so it doesn't really matter that they are revealed in advance.
 
If I had to choose, I would have preferred if Sucker Punch kept the voice actor and look intact from inFamous 1. Some people didn't like how gravely his voice was, but I thought the quality of Jason Cottle's voice acting was really good.

I think the game ended with a really interesting twist, so it'd be a shame if they discard what they started.

With that said, I loved inFamous so at the end of the day, the gameplay is more important.
 
Maybe I've been playing too much Red Dead, but take a closer look at that city, it has cobble stone streets, the architecture is very European on that church looking building and the building on the left looks like a Saloon. I'm getting an old west/European vibe from it. I know that probably makes zero sense, but that architecture on that church thing doesn't look american.
