Also, that could just be weird concept art, look at "Elena" in this magazine cover, who the fuck is that bitch...so this could just be a rough sketch and he may turn out looking more like Cole.

There would be nothing wrong with letting that story sit and starting a new one, something that might intertwine with Cole's and other people's stories in the fullness of time. Something like what Resident Evil does. If Cole was gone for a game or two - or even if he made but a cameo or brief appearance, then when his next full game came out everbody would be jazzed and using his powers would feel fresh again.

EDIT: I just looked at the cover again. It's really a stupid picture. There's a fire in the foreground and the crowd seems to be walking around oblivious.
Also, that outfit is just plain bad. I thought Cole had a cool outfit in the first game.

I found the old model of Cole ok...and I find this model of Cole ok. I don't really understand people getting worked up over the colors or the clothing, as its concept art. Plus he's running around in the dark, so you can barely makeout the pattern and style of his clothing. I think once folks get a better feel of the character and his new personality...it may be easier for you guys to accept the new model. Or maybe not.

Anyways, the new Cole doesn't look too bad I guess. Obviously we'll have to see the in game model to fully see what's going on with it. But it doesn't matter, it's good enough considering the gameplay of inFamous is the real draw to the game. It was one of the few open world games that have enjoyable gameplay, and it doesn't look "too bad". It's gameplay is up there with Crackdown, getting the edge over said game due to the better feeling and depth of character progression and abilities.
Can't wait to see it in action. Sony really has a lot on it's plate it seems, and I'm sure there's a few surprises to be had at E3 (Starhawk please).

The original Cole doesn't exactly scream dude who rides a bike for a living.
I think the new Cole is more in line with the character's background.

Yeah the face looks completely different. It's not just the hair growth. Ugh, hate the design. He has a thicker jaw, darker/longer eyebrows, etc etc. Cole has a "Steve Austin" look to it. This GameInformer rendition is just too uninspiring. The character design was pure perfection and now it's not.

I doubt he'll be switching powers. It would make the plot of Infamous 1 pointless. I would like to fight against other elemental powered baddies. Baddies with fire, water, wind, and etc.

I'm curious about the story, how it'll tie up the loose ends of the first game. We're not in Empire City, I guess, why would Cole leave? Also, was Empire City on the West Coast or the East Coast? I'd always thought it was a stand-in for San Francisco or something.
Also, I hope they have a walk animation for him now. It was ridiculous that his only moving speed was 'sprint'.
