$35 is more than half the price of a new full priced game and in this case it is only getting you a character skin. It's not that he didn't understand what it was, it's because the pricing is ludicrous especially if you're not a fan of Dota.

It gets you a new loading screen or something too! Valve's getting paid, Gabe is swimming naked in Dota cash.
 
Listening to some 2009 podcast and the guys talking about how Quick looks that go over 20 minutes is too long and insane made me laugh.
 
Any fellow duders getting Destiny on the PS3/360 rather than on the new consoles? I would like to kind of check this game out due to it being Bungie (even though they canned Marty). Is the game going to be hopefully okay on the last gen consoles? I don't really care about graphics or loading, just so the core game would be at least comparable on the PS3. Also can ps3 and PS4 users at least play together so the user base isn't so fragmented?

I would imagine so. At the time all other gaming sites still believed that almost all video content had to be no more than 10 minutes long (some still almost seem to believe that, despite the rise of YT), and you can see GB still sticking with that for a short while before saying fuck it with both the P4 ER and QLs.

Ps3 and ps4 players cannot play with each other. The worst thing about the ps3 version is it looks like some smeared vaseline all over the screen. Apart from that it is the core game!

Wolves.
First encounter with Sniper Wolf.
Run back to armory for sniper rifle.
Run back to corridor area again for Sniper Wolf battle.
I'm guessing that that's all in this week's episode.

Raven isn't for a LONG while. Gotta do the long run through the pair of towers. Helicopter fight. Second Sniper Wolf fight. A short bit of faffing about. Then second Raven fight.

i mean when you spend hundreds of hours with a character and you know its every in and out

it can seem a lot more substantial then it really is

i view it as someone who spends some ridiculous amount of money on some vanity item for their car (some paint job or white wall tires or some hood ornament)

no one will notice it except that guy and maybe some other people who are car nuts

but it can mean tons and be totally worth it to them

and when youre in a game everyone there is totally a 'car nut' and go omg he has arcana hes so *something*
 
This is the one morning with my current work schedule that I'm at home and awake at that time so this is great for me. Plus, I'm actually looking forward to Destiny.
 
Seems like a couple other websites will be doing similar streams for when the servers open. Seeing their reactions would be a good way to pass my lunchtime today.
 
Just finished watching the PAX panel, great stuff as usual giantbomb .

and now that i've got a big screen hooked up in my room with the PC, i can lay back on the bed and enjoy some quality giant bomb content with the Mrs.
 
I'm getting a bit frustrated with the hd version of mgs2. Early stages and they cram in a lot of codec interruptions, but every time I answer a call there's a 4 or 5 second pause before the faces appear and start talking. I'm tempted to just emulate my ps2 copy.
