Dan is like 25 years too young to have the music opinions that he has.

naw, he's what, 29?30? He was born in the early-to-mid 80s and he did most of his growing up in the 90s, when people were nostalgic for 70s music. As someone who is about his age, it totally makes sense.

It was for that "Adult female demographic ousts teenage male demographic..." thread, where he thought that his own anecdotes countered a study that was in the OP that he didn't even read.

he was the perfect junior. may god bless him and his eventual alt account.

Is Premium account sharing frowned upon? Do GB use measures to prevent\limit it?

This is the equivalent of posting on a band forum and asking if it's ok to torrent their albums.

Also I was born in 1978, I take full responsibility for the music after that date.

In regards to the Dye-ablo difficulty discussion: I feel expert is the perfect difficulty for the average gamesman. Not ultra-hard but challenging in spots. After having played the PC version pre-overhaul for a billion hours, I'm having a ton of fun again on console on expert.

I started on hard and every time it became too easy I bumped the difficulty up. I think it's great that they now allow you to change the difficulty on the fly which makes this possible.

Good to know I align fairly decently with Dan in terms of music tastes. I'm 28, pro-AC/DC, Zeppelin (just saw Robert Plant in concert this weekend), Dire Straits, RATM, Nirvana, think Appetite is one of the best albums of all time, and Pink Floyd sucks. I disagree with him on Rush, they got some good stuff.

edit - Also, I approve of the Skynard and Thin Lizzy shirts I've seen him wear.

Can we talk about Jeff not being afraid? When you play these types of games you have to get into the moment and allow yourself to become immersed in the world and afraid. I really want to hear his opinion of it after playing the game.

His taste in music is probably the first thing were Dan and I could agree on something, although I listen to more genres. The bands he named I agree with, though.

I like a lot of Led Zepellin, AC/DC, and Nirvana stuff (and to a lesser extent some Skynyrd) but I've heard them all so much I never want to hear them again. Pink Floyd, Rush, and Metallica never really get old to me though.

Jeff is far too set in his ways to be swayed by PT.

I actually feel the same way that he does about "scary" stuff, but I still appreciate and enjoy games like Amnesia and PT. Jeff tends to be deliberately obtuse about things he's not into sometimes.

I hate people like that... People trolling just to get attention really annoys me.

I don't care what he says (as a matter of fact I mostly agree with his musical taste).

I just hate when people go say publicly an opinion they know to be controversial just to see people freak out. Like...seriously? Grow up...fuck.

It's too bad cause I really like what he does on the site and on the podcast.

Dan's twitter persona is a heel. I've come to accept that.

I’ll leave you guys to argue about music. I’m gonna go watch @drewscanlon play more Metal Gear Solid!

Here's hoping it will be uploaded tonight !

I honestly believe that Jeff is probably incapable (litterally) of being immersed in a fictional world, which would explain why he doesn't "get" horror media. I'm not talking about intent here; I'm saying that there is something in the composition of Jeff's brain that renders him immune to immersion, the same way some people cannot see 3D.

Yeah, like he knows he's a horrible man child that thinks he's right about everything. He just embraces it and enjoys himself. None of the dumb shit he's posting on Twitter hurts anyone, and saying it makes him happy. Win win

AAAAAAAH DAN'S TWITTER HAS STRONG OPINION I DON'T AGREE WITH!!!! AND HIS OPINIONS ARE SO ABSOLUTE!

Come on now, do we really need a quote every fucking time, and someone becoming VERY OFFENDED OH NO I CAN'T ACCEPT DAN!!! in this thread?

His Twitter has literally been like this since the beginning. Someone @'s him with something, he responds in a way over the top way because he likes to see people get pissed. That's how it's always been, and probably always gonna continue to be. If you don't like that, fine, but come on, do we need to have a SHOCKED!!!!!!! post every single time? And Rez' comic quote is dumb.

I'm not offended by anything. Merely amused.

Dan is endearing.

I feel like you are overreacting here.

People have been doing that with things Jeff does and doesn't like for years now. It's practically a thread tradition at this point.

I feel like you are overreacting here.

Maybe I am. I'll admit that I'm a bit drunk, so that might be the case.

edit: Also, if we're gonna start a hip hop argument here, Wu Tang is the best group of all time (especially if we count the early "solo" albums"). Liquid Swords is the best hip hop album of all time.

I was one of those replies.

Nah, you just responded with a picture of an old man!

Mmmmmm.

Nah.

Outkast actually produces a whole bunch of amazing albums instead of only one.

Outkast is amazing. I watched them live two weeks ago. Andre is still one of the best MCs of all time, shame he doesn't seem to care about hip hop anymore. Their first four albums are absolutely fucking amazing.

But I'm talking about Wu Tang not just as the group, but also including the "solo" stuff RZA produced after 36 Chambers (Liquid Swords, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Supreme Clientele etc.). Another group that rivals Outkast (and that I watched live not too long ago) is A Tribe Called Quest. But the way that group turned out is just sad.

Ghostface put out a solid solo album just last year. Also I doubt many would argue that Wu Tang isn't the the best group of all time, especially because hip hop groups don't really exist anymore. I can only think of Odd Future and ASAP Mob, and they barely put out music as groups. Although if you count a duo as a group then I think Run the Jewels could enter the conversation especially if their new album is as good as their first.

El-P has been making amazing shit for years now, the first Run The Jewels album was fantastic (as was R.A.P. Music). So I'm hyped for their next album! But you're right, there's not many hip hop groups anymore - it's more hip hop "collectives" like Black Hippy now.

Hey, Speakerboxxx has some good shit on it.

Also, R.A.P. Music is better than Run the Jewels.

Hey, Speakerboxxx has some good shit on it.

Totally agree, but it's not at the level of their first four albums (especially ATLiens and Aquemini, which are both top 10 hip hop albums for me). But no doubt, both Speakerboxxx and The Love Below are great.

edit: I agree that R.A.P. Music is better than Run The Jewels, but both are pretty amazing.

As this is the Giant Bomb thread, I'm gonna to stand up for Gerstmann:

Hip hop bands that made good music: Beastie Boys. That's about it.
