Three hour Daily Dota spectacular?

Thank goodness E3's over!

What potential GOTY have already been released? only things I can think of are TLoU and Bioshock: Infinite.

I wonder if anyone at GB will make a push to have Ridiculous Fishing on their list.
Antichamber
Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate
Ni No Kuni

lol, no.

Right now, as the premier GOTY-ologist for Giant Bomb, the clear frontrunner is The Last of Us. Watch Dogs is the only stand out right now for the end of the year. Bioshock: Infinite will get filibustered by Brad and Patrick, and Vinny wasn't all that up on it; it might get a token spot because of reviews and the promise of the game's opening hours. The other games are too small for them to vote for GOTY, though Cart Life might rank higher than people expect. Ni No Kuni has no chance because it is a slog, boring JRPG that doesn't have the charm of something like Persona 4 (and both Ryan and Brad couldn't get into Persona 4, so how would they get into Ni No Kuni?). Antichamber is too frustrating and obtuse, and the puzzles are too trial and error. Monster Hunter Tri hasn't been mentioned in forever. Dota will get a nod because Brad will annoy everyone until it gets a slot (and, because it generated a lot of content).

I'm interested to see how Devil May Cry ends up, since Brad was so high on it, though I don't know the status of others on the game.

The only year I've been wrong in my predictions was the Skyrim / Saints Row the Third debacle where they clearly didn't want to give it to the game they all enjoyed the most.... though I was a bit surprised by the high placement of Far Cry 3 last year, I predicted the one and two spots. X-Com was unstoppable.

GTA4 was more fun to watch than to play. So I guess Rockstar kinda succeeded with their goal of being more cinematic, but I ain't touching that shit no more, I buy games to play them.

GTA 4 was excellent in its storytelling. Some of the missions were annoying but overall a great game to play. I have yet to play another open world game that succeeded in breathing life into its environment to the extent that GTA 4 accomplished.

Yeah, sorry dudes, but GTA 5 will likely have GOTY in the bag this year. I'd be shocked if it didn't have the overwhelming majority from them.

I think it's going to run into some weird 'is it a 2013 game' arguments, which are fair imo
No, that's bullshit. It's coming out of beta this summer. You don't judge a game when the developers say it's not finished. Stop being such a dick, Ryan.

You're forgetting one key point.
No one else played it. This isn't some bs 'best dlc' category that no one cares about to appease him. It's GOTY.

If Brad really does filibuster for DOTA2 and Jeff is left holding the bag because Ryan or someone caves, I think I'd lose my mind. I'm still salty about Saints Row 3.

Brad just needs to find the right heroes to fit the giant bomb crew to get them to accept it. Like Juggernaut for Jeff, Weaver for Ryan, Treant for Vinny, and Patrick... he can be Meepo.

Maybe Jeff would like Invoker? He's pretty interesting mechanically and plays kind of like a fighting game character in that you need to input combinations to cast spells. Ryan would've been great with Skeleton King pre-patch, only has one active ability. Give Vinny Rubick or AA as support and Patrick can play... Meepo.

Despite that, Brad will probably find a way to feed.

Invoker is too much to worry about starting out. Honestly, all of them should play Skeleton King to start, even post patch. Dragon Knight is also pretty easy. Sniper isn't bad for a fairly straight forward ranged hero. If they do a co-op session versus bots on the lowest difficulty, I think they would pick up the basics relatively quickly.

Oh yeah they should definitely do a bot game first to familiarize themselves with the LoMa genre, because it is damn weird from an outside perspective.

Maybe they should each control a Meepo clone, then when one of them dies they'll start shitting on each other.

LoMa? What does that stand for?

And have people decided on a name for these things yet? lol

Brad won't push too much for Dota 2, he knows it has no chance. You have to chose your fights..

Isn't Dota 2 officially launching this year? They'll have to make a new category just to satiate Brad's Dotathirst, like "Best game Brad won't shut up about and pisses off the rest of us" award.

Is The Witness looking to release this year? I remember Patrick and at least one other member (Brad? Jeff?) being pretty excited about it, and Alex was very positive about it on the E3 coverage.

If it is a 2013 release, I can see it scoring high on the GOTY list.

Ahh cmon guys, Patricks a good newsman, but as far as Quick Looks/Bombcasts goes dudes a weak link. Not as funny as the others. And his excitement for Indie games frequently comes across as phony

I used to share that view when he just joined, but he has pretty much been the most enthusiastic, busiest member of the team over the last year. Without him, we'd have far fewer quick looks, feature videos, podcasts/interviews, and a lot less open-mindedness.

Really not sure how much longer I can listen to this e3 day 2 podcast third segment anymore. The first 2 segments were so good, but this is just painful to the ears.

How is the day 3 show?

On the positive note, he's gonna do QL's solo from now on, so no more of him interrupting and talking over other folks :P

He isn't the 'funniest' guy but he really does bring a hell lot to the bomb crew. Poor one out :(

Hope there is a livestream 'exit ceremony' like event where its all games patrick loves.

aka yoshi island live stream!
