In the long term it isn't. Most sites are now sourcing MS direct. I will do nothing for GB beyond killing the site with a short term traffic spike.
Does wonders for Patrick's reputation though.

Also you could argue that MS rushed the announcement forward after it was leaked. Who knows how they planned to roll out the message - the site crashing and the hasty blog post do not seem planned.

The man basically puts his entire job and reputation on the line when he posts things like this and their unconfirmed, even for an hour. I don't understand why you're being so high and mighty about whether he should get credit.

His job is being a journalist and he broke a story that he felt confident about regardless of official confirmation. He deserves credit.

its an auto thing :O do that for a while now, not really looking for credit, more because I want know where people end up using the gifs.
