Seems like people are unhappy with how Payday was portrayed in the QL.

I have not played either Payday, so maybe I'm making some incorrect judgements here, but Payday 2 really seems like a game you need to play coop with friends, or at least people you can communicate with via a mic. It also seems you need to play a mission a few times before you find out what the best approach is, and then strive to excecute it as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Reviewing these types of games is always hard (same as fighting games) - because you need to play them for at least a week or so to see if the higher-level systems hold up and it's still fun at that level - but shooting a Quick Look after having minimal experience with the game sounds especially bad. At that point, I think if nobody is interested in investing time learning the game, they should just not QL it. It will not give viewers a well-informed perspective on the game, which is the function of QLs (besides entertainment).

100% accurate. The other night I spent over and hour with the same crew running missions having a blast on voice chat, you're not gonna get that experience from a QL.

TL;DR: If the GB crew can't give a well-informed perspective on the game, they should consider not Quick Looking it at all.

Fuck that.

Well informed and thorough opinions are for reviews.

Playing a game for 20-60 minutes and just reacting to how far you are along at that moment early or late is perfectly acceptable.

There is plenty of stuff in the QL that won't "get better" with communication/leveling up.

Glad I saw the QL considering I was on the fence about the game.

Seconded. They should play whatever games they want lol.

Yeah, you sure proved him wrong that QLs full of misinformation could be harmful (?).

I wouldn't buy the game yet because $30 is too much for me right now, but I've watched enough people who were genuinely enthusiastic about the game and understood how to approach it that it's tempting.

It's really annoying that the people making Payday 2 learned nothing from the first game.

I know you're meant to play with 4 people but at least make the AI do something. There are times when you could be down a person or two.

Payday 2 should have been online only, but it isn't, so calling out the AI as bullshit is useful. If nothing else it lets you know that if you don't want to play online then don't bother buying it.

Jeff had played it enough to be informed. If he were reviewing it then you might have a point, but he isn't.

Good stream. GB made Sony's shitty camera work entertaining.

I mean god damn whoever was in charge of directing the camera switching / direct feed switching for that show should be fired.

Even if you have a crew going, it's still possible to play this game wrong. If you go in playing it like a shooter, like Jeff does, it's honestly not a very fun game. Most of the fun comes from trying to not get the police's attention for as long as possible. Jeff is half right in saying that the mask mechanic only for getting into position at the beginning of the mission, but getting into position means stopping people from hitting any alarms to alert the outside, not getting into position to shoot everyone.

The reason Jeff has to complain about people abandoning him is because his style of play is not fun for himself or the other players.

That's not to say that's not the fault of the developers. They should have better communication on how the game is meant to be played. It's just worth noting that it is quite good if you get over the hump of learning how to play it correctly.

Sounds like its very similar to why something like "The Ship" never took off. Expecting random people in a multiplayer game to act a certain way is akin to herding cats.

Quick Looks aren't about well-informed perspectives of the game. Most of the time the QL's they do they have only put a little time in the game. It's more so there to show people the game and have fun with it.

TL;DR don't watch QL's ever again if you want well informed videos. Watch them to learn a little and have fun.

That mission just looks bad. I watched someone on youtube play it much better and with actual people and it still looked mediocre.
That's the games fault. Mediocre games will always show mediocre. It just so happens that it riffs off of a well known and well honed multiplayer gameplay style.

Sorry if this has been mentioned in another part of the thread, but what are the specs of the PC they were running saints row 4 on? that shit looked amazing.

Just wanted to tell anyone in this thread: I bought Saint's Row 4 on PS3 and from the hour I've played so far it feels completely serviceable, as long as you haven't seen the PC version in action.
