Sad that there wasn't any real moments like this

They had plenty of huge third party support. this got nothing but indie support.

Virtually all that 3rd party stuff was cross-gen or on XB1. I'm saying if he factors in Zelda not being an exclusive, then PS4 looked weak as hell.

Obviously, factoring in the non-exclusive stuff, the PS4 crushes it despite how good Zelda is. I'm saying if non-exclusive comes out of the equation to his point, all the launches look weak..

All launches looks weak, but this is possibly the worst of em all. it's even worst than Wii U launch.

No it isn't. I had that too and while I love Nintendoland, it had that and NSMBU then some shitty 3rd party ports. Give me Snipperclips, Zelda, Fast RMX and Shovel Knight over that.

If it wasn't for the £100 Amazon price mistake, there's no way I'd have gotten a Wii U at launch.

I remember the Wii U launch stream. Shit was depressing on a whole different level compared to this one.

But! at least Wii U had Miiverse drawings.

Yup I'm certainly glad I've not bought the switch on release now.
I feel you. I really want to play Zelda, but no single game is worth 380 € (plus 70 for the Pro Controller). I hope the Switch gets cheaper closer to the holiday season.

Still glad I have ordered a Switch. I really want to play Zelda (only ever played an hour or so of one before) and I haven't owned a Nintendo console since the 64, so instead of buying a Wii U to play it I may as well pay the extra for the Switch.

I get the feeling Nintendo has a bunch of finished games but wants to avoid an anemic post launch where they have a game drought and instead want a steady stream of quality titles e.g. We have MARIO Kart next month, then Arms likely the month after followed by Splatoon 2 followed by Xenoblade 2 followed by Mario Odyssey.

Personally I think it's a pretty clever strategy as they were always gonna sell the majority of their launch stock so drop feeding quality content is more likely to keep the core engaged whilst drawing new folks in and keeping the conversation going.

I personally don't need anything other than Zelda, in saying that I've got Bomberman, 1-2-Switch and Snipperclips to play with the kids.

If having Zelda which is the equivalent of Super Mario 64 in terms of being a system seller is considered worst of them all, then I guess everything else is shit tier.

Like the Switch has a legit system seller game that has a 98 on metacritic. That literally shits on anything PS4 and Xbox had for launch.

Inb4 Zelda doesn't count.

Zelda is not a system seller to the same degree of Mario or Mario Kart. Highest selling Zelda is what, 8 million on a 100+ million selling system?

Damn this thread made me realize how much I miss Ryan Davis. He was the highlight of my commute back in the day whenever a new Bombcast dropped. :(

Anyway, damn, missed the stream. I figure it's archived on GB.

I don't watch Giant Bomb stuff so much any more, but I tuned into this and man Jeff looks great! He looks like he's lost quite a bit of weight.

Yeah New Super Mario Bros U really helped make Wii U a success.

Which is laughable bc that game feels like amateur hour until you get to the luigi stuff.

This launch has an amazing ground breaking zelda. I get that its on wiiu, but that doesnt allow you to play it portable.

Im about to watch this stream and i expect some harsh opinions but thats ok.

Enjoyed this stream a lot even though it showed me that I was smart in only buying Zelda & Waku Waku 7. Also I laughed that I showed up/was mentioned in the stream a few times

I don't think he hates the game, and repeatedly offers the caveat that he's not playing deep into the game so that he can play his save at home fully, but he clearly has reservations about the weapon durability and climbing and stamina system in general - systems that are very obviously core mechanics for the entirety of the game.

He's been playing a ton of it since Friday, like literally every time I get on to play, which is a lot, I see him playing lol.
