How much did it cost? Did it hurt? I heard they cut a slit in your eyeball or something crazy like that. I couldn't deal with that although I do want better eyesight later down the line.
shit was expensive...around $3,000. you can find it cheaper, but i felt better going to a more reputable guy which obv costs a little more. the process itself doesn't 'hurt', they give you valium or something to calm down and put numbers in your eyes. honestly, i'd describe the process akin to being abducted by aliens. no joke, that's the closest thing i can compare it to. you're strapped down with a little plastic thing holding your eye open, you get numbing agents in your eyes, and i think they slit a little hole in your eye then you move over to a laser machine, have to stare at a little dot with your vision all cloudy, nothing really hurts it's just, 'awkward feeling', i'd describe it as. it takes like 10 minutes total.
funny part is, immediately after i could see perfectly, and felt great. 15 minutes later in the car, my eyes sting like i squeezed lemons in them lol, all you can really do is sleep it off, since it's physically hard to keep your eyes open for 12 - 18 hours after it's done. kind of felt like eyes were sort of burning and you were just physically tearing up that whole time, it was not pleasant at all for me.
but after a day you're ok, my eyes just dried out a lot over the next 2 or so months, have to use eye drops every hour or two in that time span, doesn't hurt eyes just get dry really often. after that's done with though i felt like a goddamn cyborg, fixed by science to have better than 20/20 vision, coming from not being able to see read my laptop from 2 feet away, life changer
funny thing tho, when i went in for my consoltation they put the numbing agent in your eyes to check them out; when they did that, my vision went blank for like 7 minutes lol, i was sitting in the waiting room then 'shit, i can't see anything lol, help!'. went back to normal after a few minutes but it freaked me out, bc i think if that happened when i went in for my surgery things would have been awful. but i reacted normally to the numbing stuff when it mattered, they said that reaction wasn't a big deal and it was right, made me nervous about the surgery though at the time
