Gotcha, so it wasn't that you weren't capable of defeating the enemies it was that the game did not clearly identify to the player what you need to do.

Video is private so I'm guessing they did that to avoid account ban by YouTube.

What exactly were they extra parts shown?

The game is awesome though and that segment didn't hamper it for me, I felt pretty good after getting through it. Although I did rage bite my controller like Sessler (I can't believe he did that, haha).

That puzzle however, really needs some reworking. (Actually there are a couple puzzles like that)

Cancelled my preorder, I might change my mind when the reviews roll in. But at this point the game did not grab me in they way to warrant a full 59.99+tax purchase. The MP to me is a complete throw away with focus on frantic game play and power ups.
 
Hmm.. So we will be getting reviews without reviewers having played the mp portion of the game? Seems stupid after all the attention given to MP.

Plenty of people have complained about a puzzle that they were stuck on for hours. All because bad game design. Simple part of the game that should take a couple mins but leads to an hour of frustration can sour the experience. I hope SSM patches this and fixes it, but it seems like it might be to much to fix for a simple patch. You might have to change a portion of that level, the actual geometry.

Yea, which is why I'm so confused, how could they let something this bad get through? Jaffe always talks about how they didn't playtest the spikes in GOW1 and how much of a mistake that was. It seemed that with every release after that, they playtested the shit out of the games.

Track titles are not too spoilery, but reveal one or two character names and many locations.

Not sure how I feel about the new composer. Nothing stands out as obviously better than previous work, but I can't really evaluate outside of the context of the game.

I listened to some of the tracks earlier. Every track sounds very samey and the music feels like a stepdown from past titles.

Yeah, a lot of generic bombast with some GOW themes thrown in here and there. There aren't a ton of tracks that stand out in my memory from previous games, but I can think of a few great ones that are a lot more interesting than these new ones.

I was hoping for an epic score. His work is usually very good though isn't it?

he was the composer for the movie 300? by memory that had some amazing tracks. Especially the last scene...

was hoping for less bombastic generic rage tracks and more tracks that atleast evoke some emotion.

oh well...
 
I went to an event yesterday for God of War. I took some videos of various areas of the game if you guys wanna see them. I played about 2 hours if you have any questions about it, too.

It feels just like God of War 3, but smoother. I found that everything flowed better. Otherwise, it's God of War. If you like GoW you'll like this.

Here's the videos. The quality isn't the best, but we were only allowed to film the screens and even then we were supposed to show someone playing the game and not just the screen itself.

Well, pre-ordered this bad boy from Amazon. I didn't know we were getting back a $10 credit. Will be using that towards The Last of Us.
Pretty excited to get my hands on this.

I think it could be referencing the fact that most multiplayer modes fail and have nothing to do with its quality. Or that people aren't interested in GOW for multiplayer. Or maybe people don't like it, who knows. I honestly don't trust games press to comprehend character action games well enough (in such a short time) to determine whether or not a multiplayer mode like this is good. With shooters, everyone already understands most of the fundamentals.
 
Multiplayer stuff is just as embargoed as the single player stuff. Sony should have told you that yesterday.

Just completed Single Player. Need to sleep on it...

I don't care much for MP in GoW. My concern is the SP game. Although, if MP is anything like Powerstone, it could be a lot of fun.

The multiplayer is not forgettable .. If anything it works and is a solid experience. I speak from MP beta experience. Now that we have online co-op brawling it's even better in my book

I think he's referring to throwaway multiplayer modes and how most people tend to ignore them ala Dead Space 2, Bioshock 2, etc. I thought the beta was pretty good (to be honest I'm buying the game more for the multiplayer than the single-player).
