God of war: Ascension - SP TEASER

i find the series to be impenetrable, but the fan reaction never fails to amaze me.
I used to feel the same way, but running through the Saga collection (on easy) made me a believer. It's fun to feel empowered, and Kratos' bull headed attitude is always entertaining.

I had a blast with the Total Recall demo. I went in expecting the same old GoW formula, and ended up being really impressed. The visuals look even better than GoW III, and the new heal/decay game mechanic brings something new to the table.

See I found that these games where best when played on the highest difficulty. I actually don't usually opt for the highest and instead go with medium. But this series and most hack and slash games I have to play on hard.

wow this trailer showed us nothing

It's a teaser to a trailer that will be airing on tv...

I have to say I think Sony Santa Monica and Naughty Dog have finally maxed out PS3's graphical abilities. Between this and Uncharted 3, I can't even imagine how things will significantly improve from here.

Well, that trailer reminded me of how badass The Witcher 2 was, and how dated this game looks.

I would actually say aside from IQ and texture resolution GoW3/GowA are both more impressive.

If they were both PC games and both given an HD texture pack, it would be no contest.

(Yes I own TW2 and a PC that maxes it out)

(If you would have said Crysis 2 you may of had a point, although GoW still does not look dated, for a console title)

The demo is the E3 demo isn't it? That didn't look better at all.
Have you played it? YT vids and screens do not do it justice either way that was a very old build and this new gameplay blows away that and GOW III,the game's out in March so you won't have to wait much longer to see that.

The art style of GOW's monsters have changed a little over the years. They used to be somewhat goofier, whereas now they seem to have that 'JJ Abrams look'. Matter of fact CoO's Basilisk, GoS's Scylla, and now this game's Charybdis all look like evolutionary offshoots of the Cloverfield monster. And yes, this is a good thing. Scarier monsters = win.

Minor crit: I wish the sea-beast looked a bit more aquatic. The teeth and general mouth don't scream marine life to me, but it's still neat looking.

Maybe it could be Ophion. That was an enormous Greek mythological snake and was cast down by Cronus, another GoW featured mythological Titan.

I don't think it's Charybdis from the other GIF, because that's a sea based creature.
It isn't Charybdis for sure but I'm guessing it could be a large temple with several of these snakes attached to it above the mountains and that Manticore roams around somewhere in between.
