I had no problem yesterday but today I'm experiencing the same thing. I assume the site is overloaded? Anyone else having this problem at the moment?Anyone still having trouble buying games? I have no idea why it's just dumping me back to the cart.

BG: not necessarily but the story in BG2 is a direct continuation from BG1. There's a mod that turns the whole thing into one big experience.
Freespace: no, the story in FS2 isn't too important and the mission logs will bring you up to speed. And there are mods that basically rebuild the first game in FS2's engine.
The best way to play BG1 now is something like EasyTutu which converts BG1 to the BG2 engine. A bunch of mods won't even work unless you do this. Problem is, you can't convert the game unless you also have BG2.Thanks for the reply. I haven't played either BG before, so I'll just get the first game I think then for now.
Problem just cleared up for me and I finally managed to pay with PayPal so all I can suggest is to just wait for a bit and keep trying until it works.Anyone else having issues with their orders going through still? With both PayPal and direct CC order, I click "Process order now", it waits a few seconds, and then reloads the order screen.
LET ME GIVE YOU MONEY, GOG!
Edit: I see others are having the same issues, as well.

I think IWD1 is a nicely balanced and "shorter" RPG with a bigger focus on action that will give you a good introduction to the infinity engine D&D games (~20-40 hours compared to ~50-100+ or so). You still need to do a little reading of the manuals if you're new to the material, but in IWD1 you get to make a full party of 6 characters yourself, starting from level 1 going to the high 20s, and it doesn't dwell too long on the lower levels like Baldur's Gate 1 does, which a lot of people dislike. The battles are fun in IWD1, and the plot is good too, with some enjoyable voice acting occasionally mixed in. Graphically, the pre-rendered environments are very pleasing, and I also enjoy the wintry theme. The music is great as well. By the time you finish Icewind Dale you should have a very good grasp of the way you want to play BG2, what class and tactics you prefer to use, since the Baldur Gate games normally only have you making a single character and recruiting others to your cause, so the decision of what character do I make out of dozens and dozens is a little more intimidating if you're new.
HoMM2 or HoMM3?
Really want to pick up Rayman 2 but like others, not sure the quality of the port.
They are pretty different games. R6 is more like a FPS-strategy game (you spend a lot of time planning out the paths/actions) and S3 is more like a FPS-adventure game, although definitely more FPS than adventure. Also, does anyone have any thoughts about which is the better purchase if I had to choose between Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and Swat 3: Tactical Game of the Year Edition?
3 is the highpoint of the series.
So should I go for Roller Coaster Tycoon complete or number 2?

Damn fine selection. Might consider Tropico over SC2k unless you're real nostalgic about that.So how's my cart?
Planescape Torment
Baldurs Gate II
Simcity 2000
Caesar 3
Arcanum

Will I be able to complete BGII easily if I finish The Temple of Elementhal Evil?
Is Another World good on iPad?
Is UT2004 good with bots? I remember enjoying it.
Kind of an odd question. Temple of Elemental Evil uses the 3rd edition D&D rules whereas BG2 uses AD&D (aka 2nd edition) so there will be some differences in how things play in that regard. BG2 also uses a pausable realtime combat system whereas ToEE is entirely turn based. They really are quite different from one another so I don't think proficiency in one is really going to translate to proficiency in the other beyond knowing what spells do what.
BGII is underwhelming.
Just bought Alpha Centauri, I hope it's good.
Gog wont let me load my wishlist![]()
Also if you can't get your wishlist to load (like I haven't been able to for hours now) you can just visit this page and it should list all the stuff in your wishlist at the top with a little orange heart next to it.
Might want to go see a doctor, your serotonin receptors appear to be broken ;b
I bought it yesterday, and after playing it for about 20 minutes, I'd best describe it as obtuse. Definitely read the instruction manual first, this game is as unintuitive as they come, it seems.
I never ever had problems with Fallout games but BGII is underwhelming. Fallout is the only isometric RPG I was able to love (might be because it was my first RPG).

I need some advice

The new content really clashes with the old, both the video and the audio. And the new areas are kind of unnecessary. But mostly, the PC version is depressing since it's such an obvious tablet port (it'll make more sense when you try it).How is the first Broken Sword game? Thinking about picking it up, though why are so many reviews on GOG down on the director's cut edition? Is it bad?
Honestly, most of that stuff is pretty great. I'd switch Baldur's Gate 2 for 1 and I'd drop Might and Magic entirely (I never played them when I was younger and I just couldn't get into them now. Besides, I hear MM7 is by far the best in the series). I'm also not sure about the PC port of Guilty Gear. Can someone help me trim this for someone with a moderate amount of gaming ADHD? I LOVE old games, but this purchase seems completely absurd for someone who just bought the humble indie bundle![]()

Thankfully, GOG supplies the original version as an extra with the purchase of the Director's Cut. Just plug it into SCUMMVM and you're good to go!

edit: And even though I also picked it up, I have a feeling that Rayman 2 would be a bad idea unless you're already OK with older 3D platformers.
I started it two times but it seems to be very deep and hard so I end up reading manual and then not playing the game. I have installed it again, must push through this dungeon to the first city.
I like older 3D platformers if they're SM64, but that's as far as I'll goDropped Rayman 2, switched BG2 for 1. Also considering dropping Might & Magic since I only want it so I can laugh at how hilarious the first one will be, and that's probably a TERRIBLE reason to pay $5 for it ._. Uuuuugh decisions.... All great advice though, thanks!
Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.Descent 1+2 is what I'd cut.
Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.
Descent is still one-of-a-kind. It plays like nothing else and it's absolutely worth buying just to try it. And it helps that it's still a really good game!
And then there's DXX-Rebirth which updates the game to run on modern computers at ridiculous resolutions (+ widescreen) using nearly any controller. It's wonderful.
