looks like the sale is starting to end. If you are a graphic whore, GOG is not really for you, still some games hold up very well since PC gaming was in HD since almost ten years and some other games like the Infinity Engines have been upgraded and moded heavily.

For example, running Planescape Torment or Baldur Gate at 1366x768 (my laptop resolution) make it more modern than at time of release, where people played it at 640x480.

Gameplay is good for most of these games, since the sea of bad games of that period is not remembered.

Nah, graphics for me hold very little value when I'm choosing a game from GOG, though they'll catch my eye if a game has a decent look to it, I'm way more concerned with how the games have held up over the years. I know most by name but the ones I haven't played I'm still cautious buying. I ended up watching a lot of 'let's play' videos to see how the games played.
You're probably right though with that last sentence. All the games I've bought and played I've enjoyed. They can't be too bad if they're so well remembered.

Ended up trying some of the games I bought, all great so far.
Chessmaster is fantastic, so much depth to it. Played some Incredible Machine, still fun but the music is so laughable. XIII was cool, played a little and can see myself trying to finish it (which never happens) and just got done playing about an hour of Arx Fatalis. Awesome so far, had me creeped out now and then, nice atmosphere. Once you get over the initial control learning curve its fun as, though I still don't know how the hell the spell casts work. Oh and I did try Ultima Underworld for a sec but struggled with the controls I'll retry it when I have more patience.

Very pleased with my purchases. :)

Regarding the Tex Murphy series, is it recommended to play through Mean Streets and Martians Memorandum before Under a Killing Moon?

Nope. In fact, I'd recommend that you stay far away. Under a Killing Moon and The Pandora Directive are awesome, the earlier stuff isn't.

You can skip Mean Streets, Overseer is almost a remake of it (huge chunks of mean streets are retold via flashback sequences).

I just picked up:

Might and Magic 1-6
Icewind Dale 2
Baldur's Gate: Original
Lands of Lore 1+2

That's a lot of hours worth of gaming for less then $18! :D

I was especially chuffed to get Lands of Lore 1, since that was the first RPG I ever played.
