Gaming stuff is all in Yongsan
Tons of retro and old stuff there, though I haven't been in years!

GSL + hold a GAF sign!!

GSL + hold a GAF sign!!

i was in the GSL team finals on Busan beach a few days ago. cant remember if i wore a gaf shirt or not... that brutal 5-0 allkill one between OpenFX vs Slayers.

found the Yongsan gaming alley, normal PS3 games and others were really expensive, 20-30$ for used older games like Force Unleashed that should be less than 10$. bought a couple SNES games though, and it seemed like the place has been prettymuch picked clean of really good gems :P

"best" pickup that i got is Hokuto No Ken 6 for 3000Won :D

Okay, let me try to give some directions to the Video Game Alley. The post above is definitely talking about the same place, but the directions aren't really clear.

The easiest way to get there is actually to start from Sinyongsan Station on subway line 4.

1. Go out exit five of Sinyongsan Station and walk straight; cross the the street with the convenience store on your right (Yongsan Station will be on your left).

2. Keep walking until you get to a big tunnel that goes under all the train tracks. Go through the tunnel and come up on the other side.

3. When you come out, you will be on the left side of a street with a bunch of street food vendors on the left, and computer shops on the right (this is Seon-in Plaza). Go to the sidewalk on the other side of the street and keep walking straight.

4. You will come to an intersection with no traffic light (the computer market should now be behind you on the right), go across. Now there will be more street food on the left and also a bunch of guys selling bootleg dvds. Keep going straight until you get to the traffic light.

(at this point the road curves to the right, you want to situate yourself so you see Lotteria across the intersection and on the right - by the map you will be turning left to cross the street, but really you are still going straight)

5. Cross the street at that intersection and immediately turn left when you get across. You will see several long paths that go down under the building. The first one is filled with cell phone shops. The 2nd one (just past an outside VCD/DVD shop)is video game alley.

Good luck!

What he said! I bought a perfect condition Comboy (Korean NES) and Game Boy there. You can find plenty of nice retro games easily.

Same question but going to Philippines (Cebu) and Hong Kong next weekend.

I'm in HK at the moment. There are 3 main places for games. Golden shopping arcade in shun shui po has 1/2 a floor for games, slightly cheaper than other places but mostly newer releases only. There is a centre in Mongkok which has a lot of more obscure gaming stuff but slightly more expensive. Finally 188 centre in wan chai. It has 3 floors and a great selection.

Go to Green Arcade then brag about it in the TEKKEN thread.

yeah, its the classic tekken mecca over here. i've played like 200 matches of Tekken Tag 2 here already in the arcades :D all my money in those machines...

Busan and Osaka had way better general arcades though. More variety and more modern games like Gunslinger Stratos and those Gundam fighters.

looted everything i could find:

it was a shame that in the Videogame Alley in Yongsan, half of the shops and all of Kukje Electronics center was closed for summer vacations!

Techno Mart was allright but either the same summer situation but i could just find one retrogame booth there. But i bought a couple cheap blurays so it wasnt all lost :D

Here is a current July 2012 photo of the entrance to the Video Game Alley to help others finding it:
