Goku Vs. Superman - Settled Once and For All

It is, which is why i lost it and started laughing. forgot he existed. THAT punisher was legitimately insane. Makes the "regular" punisher look very well adjusted in comparison.

I didn't stick with his book long though, 2099 was awful outside of spiderman and maybe a couple of issues of doom.

Dude had his own personal prison.

It's fast but nowhere near instant

i rememeber a discussion at the comic shop was how Nightcrawler's teleportation inside the "rift" is extremely painful and he once used a series of multiple teleportations while holding on to Wolverine in order to win a fight against him.

So i just wonder if Goku's IT exists that rift as well.

I can't find the source at the moment but the author of Dragonball had outright said that Instant transmission is instant.

Nightcrawler's works by porting between another dimension and then back which is why it smells like brimstone. It doesn't hurt him but it does consume energy so he can only teleport so much before he gets tired, especially when taking other people with him.

He couldn't clean Hell's kitchen in more time then that with out his tech what makes you think he could do it with Gotham city?

That was such a good run as well. Too bad it was canceled.

It's a hypothetical. BP *could* clear hell's kitchen with all of his resources (how much crime is there in wakanda? exactly) but this wouldn't make for good storytelling, so you'll never see it in comics.

Hypothetically speaking, most of gotham's crime is caused by a few repeat offenders and the thugs they employ. Said repeat offenders get a LOT of mileage out of knowing that Batman will not kill or permanently disable them, they'll just go to arkham for a while. BP would not put up with their shit, and they don't really know how to deal with him.

Shit is about to get nerdy. Nightcrawler teleports through the Darkforce dimension. When things not native or have a connection to the place teleports through it, it sucks the energy from them because the Darkforce is the ultimate void. That is why he can knock folks out with rapid teleports.

Cool, though.

That's Cloak that goes through the Darkforce dimension. Nightcrawler uses the Brimstone Dimension

Goku fights Superman while his friends wish the Dragonballs to make Superman a bitch or the Sun red or Goku's fist out of kryptonite.

Seriously the Dragonballs could have been abused to solve every problem the Z Fighters every had, easily. It's the biggest flaw in the entire show (and that's saying something).

They tried that to beat Vegeta and Nappa.

Shenron cannot grant a wish to defeat or kill a living being that surpasses the power of his creator.

DC universe magic can be just as powerful.

Now if the battle were Gogeta vs. Composite Superman, I think Gogeta would definitely win.

The dragon probably would have refused them. He never really made clear what he could or couldn't do. He was a dick like that.

Edit: ^^Yeah there's that thing about power of his creator and all that too.

Whoa. You really do know a lot of comic shit.

Cool, though.

Nightcrawler can also teleport parts of people with him- as in JUST an arm or JUST a leg, etc. AOA nightcrawler teleported Deadpool(?)'s head off.

Properly written, Nightcrawler could kill or permanently disable just about anyone in seconds.

edit: also- hypotheticals like "who could clean up gotham city fastest" between the MU street levels are always entertaining. setting loose BP or Punisher in Batman's home turf would be highly entertaining.
I give BP a week, Punisher about 6 hours.

Punisher wouldn't clean up Gotham. He would just create a power vacuum. The city would be worse for his intervention. Killing off the joker would scare some of the minor criminal element. But crazy motherfuckers would be thankful not to have to deal with him. Then frank would have a bounty out on his head. And the collateral will be ridiculous.

Yes but you can easily get around that (fist or gloves made out of Kryptonite, turn sun into a red star...).

It's like Trunks could have used the dragonballs for instructions to Dr Gero's lab and kill all of the Androids in advance. Or they could have wished the dragon to take Buu's shell into the darkness of space and never allow it to be found again. Easy, simple, obvious.

Their is a list of confirmed Darkforce users and Nightcrawler isn't on it.

Vanisher confirmed nightcrawler has an affinity for it, even though he isn't actually a user per se. This conversation goes into the nerdiest corners of comic book speculative physics, though.

says you! :D Supercriminals aren't all that easy to replace. Who is going to fill the vacuum left by Mr Freeze? By Poison Ivy? By Bane? their attributes are unique. You might have random crime boss #2381 attempt to move in, but word get around that someone is slaughtering criminals instead of jailing them, and suddenly bludhaven or metropolis look a lot more attractive.

And who's going to put a bounty out on frank? They need to find out who he is first- and frank tends not to leave a lot of survivors around to tell on him.

couple of things: kryptonite doesn't kill superman immediately- it's just damn painful. It's also not that durable, so shattering it from long range with heat vision etc is a good way to get rid of it. Also: kryptonite is carcinogenic, and will kill even humans. long term exposure to a ring (and in comic terms, long term was like a year, tops) killed lex luthor back in the day- giant boxing gloves of the stuff would probably leave goku with a lot of tumors. and it goes without saying that turning the sun red would kill all life on earth pretty quickly.

Ya, I don't think Punisher would do that great a job either. What happened to The Punisher in Dark Reign is probably what would happen 9 times out of 10 if he went against super crime organizations.

Batman is one of the most inconsistently written characters in comics though. In one book he is defeating gods with sheer cunning and willpower like he is Doctor Doom or something. In the next book, Two Face is a legitimate threat.

Yes but they retconned that out in Uncanny X-Men. Comics are weird like that

For things like the Dark Force and Negative Zone, is there a separate dimension for each alternative reality, or do all realities converge on those same dimensions?

Frank doesnt exactly hide who he is either. They will find out who he is, and there is plenty of money to put a price onm his head.

It wouldnt happen anyway, because even if Batman is gone, Dick or Cassandra would put a stop to it anyway.

good question. There are LOTS of different marvel realities, and they all seem to have their own separate "pocket dimensions" associated with them. Asgard is a pocket dimension, and there is one for each universe- same thing with mephisto's realm, and probably the darkforce dimension.

the ONLY exception to this is the negative zone. there is only one negative zone in the entire marvel multiverse.

Dick and cassandra would not do well against frank. This is the dude that took out wolverine then ran him over with a steamroller just to be a bastard.

In what If comics we see people from the Negative zone die that are fine in the main comics so I'd say that their are sperate versions of those places for each alternative reality.

Couldn't Goku just, I don't know, collect the 7 Dragon Balls and just wish "Superman dead" or something? Hahaha.

Superman is too strong for Shenron to kill

Superman fights Goku while Zatanna shouts "Paeh a ni espalloc sdneirf dna srethgif z" or "sllabnogard eht su evig" whichever you prefer

There is only one Dark Forze and Negative zone. There was a comic where AoA Blick meet Annihilus and he talked about the FF even though they never existed in her universe.

Superman can escape from Goku. It's not post-Crisis but I think it would still work

"what ifs" are a strange situation. in some places they are presented as legitimate alternate realities, and sometimes they're flat out theoretical and never happen. The older the "what-if" the more likely the latter is to occur.

edit: that vortex at the center of the negative zone has been used by doom to cross between alternate realities, so it's clearly meant as some kind of unique nexus between them.

Then how do dudes like Blastaar show up in a What If comic and die only to be ok next time we see them in Fantastic Four?

Meh, most stories of super heroes end with broken shit that is better forgotten or rarely used because [insert not believable / not rational / out of character / impractical / stupid / etc. ] reasons, all for the sake of keep the ball rolling. Naturally, this is part of the typical shitty writing that plagues the genre.

I'd love to see some Western artists take on a retelling of DBZ

You have the real life DB movies for that! /troll

Ok, personally, I think it could be interesting. But I fear it may be infested with additional tropes that will greatly diminish the charm of the original story. (For starters, taking the story more seriously than it should)

"what ifs" are a strange situation. in some places they are presented as legitimate alternate realities, and sometimes they're flat out theoretical and never happen. The older the "what-if" the more likely the latter is to occur.

From my experience, Marvel editors don't really care much about the workings of other planets/dimensions/realities, so contradictions are allowed to happen all over the place.

Then how do dudes like Blastaar show up in a What If comic and die only to be ok next time we see them in Fantastic Four?

because not all what ifs are representative of canon events in other realities. The rules there are all over the place, so it's best to ignore them.

Judge Dredd vs The Punisher?

I love how, for as such as Superman gets for being "inconsistent," it's Goku that folk appear to be having a harder time figuring how the limits of his abilities. lol
Erm not really. The arguments of Superman tend to be along the lines of "if Superman can withstand A why can't he withstand B?" Goku is more so "Is Instant Transmission really instant?" In short Supermans arguments is over him being inconsistent that one thing can't hurt him yet something far less powerful does, which is the result of careless writing as writers had to make a person a threat to Superman in a specific arc. Goku is more so the result of the writer just throwing random crap at the character to make the fights look cool and mistranslations.

Still we know for a fact Annilation event happened on more then just earth 616. If the Negative Zone was really one of a kind that shouldn't be possible.

That seems out of character for him. I mean even in the Max comics he doesn't go around blowing up prisons. He wouldn't want to hurt the innocent guards for one thing.

oh my god. not THAT one lololol

i swear to jesus the next time someone asks where I live, "on the edge" is the answer. I don't care if it's in a job interview. too hilarious.

you misunderstand. the Edge is just the edge between Washington Heights and Inwood in Northern Manhattan. HAHA! HE AIN'T THAT CRAZY! HAHA. I am so going to use that.

he can put everyone in jail and threaten every judge but how does he actually clean up corruption?

no they can't. they have limits. they can't go killing people that are stronger than their creator. I think they can't be used to kill people period.

politically incorrect superman= best superman.

Its actually amazing what they would put in kids comics back in the 30s, 40s, whatever. I recall coming across some popeye cartoons in college that were literally too racist to air.

but he's RIGHT >_>

I know and they used to be pretty sexist too back in the day as well.

funnycomic_FantasticFour.jpg

well Reed is a world class genius and a fantastic asshole especially to his colleagues. he got Black Goliath killed by making that Clor abomination after all.

what I would like to see is how Goku would handle some of the top tier villains of DC and Marvel.

Sentry/void would wax him. No question. But sentry is that special kind of character that they would have to eliminate or make cosmic or he would just ruin shit all over.

Doomsday would as well, but that goes for anyone who isn't a reality warper.

But he would fare pretty well if he stays out of space. Cosmic level entities would give him quite a bit of trouble.
