3-South is one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen. It made me laugh so hard, and it had The Flaming Lips for a theme song.

It only got 1 season and a few unreleased episodes that have only come out with distorted audio.
Wow, came to post this and cant believe its on the first page.

I would of liked more Heavy Gear myself. It did get 40 episodes though so I can't complain, I do want it on DVD though.

It totally needs a modern third-person game adaptation.

You can watch the whole thing on Crackle/YouTube

Anyone remember the CG Spider-man on MTV that had 1 season? Not great but it had NPH as Peter and Lisa Loeb as Mary Jane.
Just wanted to say I saw this (Had to get it on DVD to watch it), the storeys are pretty good but the CG quailty of anything but the characters was awful. It also had some quite mature/dark themes for a 'cartoon' like the psychic twins, killings, inferred sex. I especially like the Indy, Asian reporter love interest. Added a fresh face and complicated the mj/peter relationship.

The 2 part ending was just fantastic. Though I think the show ended at the right time

Spider-man Unlimited however =/

May just be nostalgia...
Mummies_alive.jpg

You just gave me a nostalgia flashback, I had COMPLETELY forgotten about this show. Was not bad, not sure it deserved more seasons though.

One thing I hated about mummies. They had the super awesome animation when they transformed, probably contracted from japan. But then the rest of the show.. the animation was so terrible.

Interesting. I thought the show as it was, was one of Disney XD's highest rated shows.

That sucks butts. This incarnation of Scooby Doo was by far the best one ever.

Yes, I said it. Wanna fite?

they axed it because they want an avengers team that more closely resembles the live action one. That and it originally only got 2 seasons. But regardless of the popularity of the show, it is being re worked to be the animated image of the live action marvel books, kinda like that avengers assemble comic that started when Avengers came out. Most felt it was a bad move, me included, and like most cringe when we see no more Yost on board and Jeph Loeb in charge ....

The only thing I liked about the MTV Spider-Man was that the costume was modeled after Romita Jr.'s version. Referencing the movie plot was ridiculous especially when Spider-Man 2 rolled around. Michael Clarke Duncan playing Kingpin was a fun cameo though.

Two that I enjoyed related to Batman Beyond

The Zeta Project

Static Shock

This show proved to me Super Tech Genius was the best super power you can have.

Static Shock was related to Batman Beyond? whoa.

also Static Shock reminds me of another phenomenon. when cartoons have a sort of soft-reboot half way through the show. I remember in SS it was just about the one kid Virgil fighting bad dudes, then later they changed his costume and his nerdy friend built a robot suit for himself and became his sidekick. i think they changed his hover board thing too. i cant remember.

the only other show i can think of that did this was the OG Batman cartoon, it got a subtitle in the name and the animation changed if i remember correctly.

They did a cross-over. It was also in the Justice League universe.

Symbionic Titan - Screw CN for their reasoning behind cancelling this show. We'll probably not see this level of awesome from Genndy for a long time now

It kinda blows my mind that cartoons are still being treated as half hour commercials for toys.

Yeah, obviously, CN wants that merchandise money but they cant expect a brand new franchise to get Star Wars level toy sales.

CN also screwed Thundercats for the same reason.

Makes me wonder if the same will happen to the new Powerpuff Girls later this year.

I liked Brandy and Mr.Whiskers.
It only had 39 episodes

also forgot about Static, very good show.
It made me purchase the "Static" comics from the new52 by DC comics. I didn't like his new outfit and his intelligence. Hes basically Gear and Static wrapped into one.

everytime i went to Walmart the shelf was clogged with Thundercats toys. then the bargain bin later was over flowing with em. what do they tell the people who pitch a show to them? if your series doesnt sell a shit ton of toys then your done? so basically if they werent able to whore out Adventure Time super hardcore like their doing now they woulda cancelled it? i fucking hate cartoon network.

in the case of Symbionic Titan, they didnt even give it a chance to sell toys. they never made any toys for it, i never ever saw them. they had the 3 main characters, the 3 main robots and Titan himself, then maybe Tashi the alien, and then the bad guys, and then maybe the mechs on their home planet, all of these could have been toys. maybe the show didnt have a plethora of characters to exploit like Ben 10, but they didnt even try. how did they know they wouldnt sell toys?

the show was way too advanced and mature for CN, it should have been on Adult Swim. i mean, the only part anyone remembers is that infamous 'booty quake it' scene of the girl jiggling her ass around, yes that was in a kids show. it should have been on AS from the beginning.

Virgil's always been pretty smart. The TV show and original comic reflect that much.

It's interesting to me that a lot of these canned shows were of the action adventure genre. This just confirms to me what a studio exec said about action adventure shows (studios don't like them because they're ratings are very poor). Oh man.

I would love to see Zeta Project and Static Shock with vibrant colors like that. Still can't get the series on at least DVD.

How did Zeta get mentioned before this?

Anyway, my own list:

Scooby Doo Mysteries Inc (assuming it actually got cancelled)
.

WAIT WAT FUCK
Im going to kill someone.
I hope this is not real.

EDIT:
No, it's not canceled.
New episodes will air January, 27th!

What the fuck guys! You wanted to give me a heartattack or what?

Honestly kind of surprised at all the Megas XLR love. I wanted to love the show - nay, I was desperate to love the show. Anything with giant robots is totally straight up my alley, but Megas XLR is best remembered as the original short before they padded it out to make the first episode to the series. The show was basically one series of jokes repeated every fucking episode, and it wore out its welcome by the third episode. Yes, there were all sorts of cute little references and parodies and Bruce Campbell voiced that MODOK knock off in one episode, but it was rarely actually funny and just came off as trying too hard the vast majority of the time.

Really, the best part of the entire series was the opening theme : (

Spectacular Spiderman.

fuck Sony.

Megas XLR was amazing.

Symbionic Titan was one of the best shows ever made.

Samurai Jack, a classic.

Cartoon Network is horrible very good at cancelling great shows.

fixed :p

oh, i miss samurai jack so much... :'(

aku...mako :(

just remembered one that isnt an animated show, it used claymation.

Moral Orel.

that show was so fucking good.

it got VERY dark and disturbing towards the end, it shoulda went on longer and got a real ending.

from what i hear happened was, Adult Swim bought the show on the premise that it was a Davey and Goliath spoof. well, apparently the shows creator was going through a divorce and got super depressed, and then the show got really fucking demented. AS didnt like how much the show changed and cancelled it.

Moral Orel had a lot of heart, it could be silly, but also very real. the show was pretty twisted, i loved it.

While his divorce did factor into some of the writing (like Clay's long rant in "Sacrifice"), the creator has actually said he planned the dark turn the series took right from the start.

What's interesting is that Mike Lazzo (Prez. of Adult Swim) actually loved how dark and twisted the series got at the end of Season 2 and requested that the creator(Dino Stamatopoulos) make Season 3 as dark as possible. Then when he got exactly what he asked for he was horrified and decided to cancel the series.

I think I would've been fine with Moral Orel ending with Season 3 if Lazzo at least allowed it to be the full season it was planned to be instead of cutting it down to 13 episodes after watching a screening of the "Alone" episode, which was cited by Dino as the reason the show got cancelled. Supposedly Mike was worried, that,s hould he allow the show to be renewed and keep going, that Dino would end up killing off Orel or something.

And this is what makes CN so stupid.

What kind of demographic was CN expecting for the new Thundercats toys? Were they really expecting a bunch of kids that werent even alive when the original Thundercats was on would rush out and buy all the toys?
And people that are old enough to be fans of the original Thundercats arent going to buy the toys en masse.
Im not going to buy the Thunder Tank for $30, Ive got bills to pay.

Also, I think cartoons and toys have switched places. 30 years ago kids would buy toys and watch cartoons the toys were based on but now kids and adults buy toys that are based the cartoons they like.
The Adventure Time toy line is popular because it is based on a popular cartoon. If the cartoon wasnt as popular as it is then the toys wouldnt sell.

But then all of my cousins' kids dont want toys based on cartoons, popular or unpopular. They all want apps for their phones, even the 6 year old kids.

Am I the old one here?

And my personal favorite...

Zeldashow.jpg

I think these shows were around 2 maybe 3 years.

I have all those on DVD. <3 them so damn much.

Also, COPS got 65 episodes, which is pretty standard for a kid's show. I know because I bought the full series on DVD. It'll run you about $10 and the DVD's come in paper sleeves.

Yeah I should be picking those up myself. I heard that for some weird legal reasons, most of the live action Lou Albano segments were cut from the DVDs but are all present on the iTunes versions. I figure if I'm going to spend money on the series and add them to my HTPC, might as well get the real deal.

Also another series that's more forgotten than short lived

Seriously there's barely a trace of the English dub of this show, it was just so wacky and self aware and the dub is equally so.
