Didn't they see they wouldn't even call Google Glasses "alpha"? It's obvious they don't want to show everything so far.

Cause this is probably all they have working (reliably) so far I bet. If they had the augmented reality/HUD stuff I guarantee they'd show it off.

This has the potential to revolutionize POV porn.

They're focusing on the camera aspect because:

1. The software isn't nearly complete yet.

2. It's a tangible, "magical" thing to "normal" people. Just like how some techies were all "iPad is a big iPod Touch, not going to be a big deal" when it was first shown. But to a normal person, this is exactly the kind of thing that gets them excited. You think most people even know about, let alone actively use, head-mounted cameras to capture all the nearly-missed moments in their life? Of course not!

Has something gone horribly wrong? The presenters sound like they're fluffing it and I swear I just heard back-stage chatter over the stream.

I knew the I/O app felt different, they must have backported all the touch stuff, cause the youtube app feels just as nice.

I'd be a dribbling wreck if I was presenting in front of thousands and tens of thousands online. Fair play to her.

Exactly. Kudos to her, it seems like her first public presentation. I was barely doing much better in my 15-person public speaking class.

Do you really believe this?
Of course it's incomplete, but so far there is no reason to believe the thing does more than just shoot pictures right now.
I'm willing to bet they are still struggling to find any practical application for the thing.

Useless demo.
