If there are more changes for the consumer in Android O, they will probably show them here. The DP was for devolopers only, so maybe the didn't show everything consumer related there.

When is it going to start? Youtube says in 30 min, the countdown here 1:30h?

It starts at 1PM eastern. I would have thrown one of those countdowns in OP but didn't know where they came from or how to get one. :|

Keynote is at 10:00am PST I believe, maybe there's some pre-show stuff on YouTube.

if it is like last year, they showed a lot of new feature of N at I/O that werent in the developer release. But OS's are at a point that are pretty iterative... so boring. The most exciting stuff could be Andromeda and how Google would handle a migration to Fuchsia, but thats AT LEAST 1-2 years to early

Ditto for pretty much all tech conferences nowadays. Even like 5 years ago a new HTC phone was pretty exciting. Not much moves the needle these days.

But at least when I watch a Microsoft conference or an Apple conference, I understand what direction they're building towards.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Probably because there isn't really much they can bring out they haven't already? Although I really wouldn't be surprised to see yet another Chromecast like device.

What for? Current high end model already does 4K and HDR. Not sure what else the music one could do.

At an all-time low with regards to hype and expectations for I/O.

Yup I remember being so hyped for Android updates but nowadays it's like me. For me it has to do with how they're presenting the updates themselves, the entire conference seems very dry. On top of that none of the build up to the conference like the yesteryears.

No one is hyped? :(

There isn't really a reason for Google to get people hyped, or Apple or Microsoft for that matter.

All these companies have made it and established their platforms. It's good they're focusing on QOL improvements while they search for the next big thing for tech.

I really want everyone to know how much more Titanfall 2 sold than Nioh. It was a staggering amount.
Anyone remember Daydream VR?
1 year...

This is at 18 bst right?

Love me some tech conferences. Can't wait for new dev stuff and Silicon Valley giving some ridiculous examples of how to use their new tech!

HERE WE GO!! ... I guess. I have no real expectations whatsoever.
Especially since my Moto X Style hasn't even updated to Nougat yet.
