And there's a difference between informing people and actively trying to dissuade people. I don't know quite where CBOAT lies in all that.

The truth the system is underpowered? I get that, I don't care. I've been told this since April, and the power difference has yet to matter to me.

It looks to me as anti-xbox because it's mostly bad news and mostly bad relative to what the competition is doing.
In any case, why don't we get any good leaks of anything? Leak a super secret game coming out in 2015 for either PS4 or Xbone. You know, something that will actually make me look forward to buying either. Because right now there isn't much to look forward to that isn't on current gen already.
You realize he didn't spread anything right, he responded to a private message. Asking him not to send out private messages seems pretty weird.
you call what cboat has said desperate? there was no meltdown, no sense of urgency, no full out floodgate of information.

Just because the news is mostly bad news, does not mean the reporter is biased.
Because, as we both know, just because there's bad news doesn't necessarily mean that there has to be good news as well.
And as for a good leak, he leaked titanfall's exclusivity. That's definitely a boon for xbox fans.

I'm really not sure how ethical it is to post that PM that he likely did not intend to become public. If he sent it with a suspicion it would become public I'm not really in favor of such behavior but I'd like to think that's not the case.
Point is despite the fact that there likely are actual things backing up his statements this thread is 100% FUD. I'm not sure how a thread saying "there's even more bad stuff but we can't reveal it" could be classified any other way. When the information is solid enough to be backed up and posted fine but I'm really not too keen on a thread like this.

In all seriousness the only real question I have about cboat is i wonder if he doesn't like what MS is doing which is understandable and doesnt want people to buy the system why does he want to keep working there? If I were him I would have left after all his reveals turned true and more so if I found I don't agree morally or like the practises of said company.
Just something I wonder. It's nice getting insider info though.

Even if he left (wherever it is that he works), he may still be under NDA. Doesn't mean he can say things even after he leaves. And not everyone can just leave their jobs they don't approve of.

So you're part of the problem, too. You're justifying buying PS+ that comes with MP and people justify buying Xbox Live Gold because that's how you get MP on your Xbox. Pay to play online.
I don't see how anyone buying an Xbox One are a problem to the industry. Because some games are 720p? (those that bought a Wii/Wii U are problems, too?) The OS may or may not crash at launch? There's a day one patch like PS4's/Wii U's?

Honestly I'd find wanting something like Ryse more baffling than the XB1 itself. Not that I haven't read the reasons and hype, but I really hope most of them just wanted a shiny Rome based game more than anything else, not unless that game can pull some crazy surprises, which I doubt.
But beyond that? Dead Rising sounds good, Killer Instinct sounds like a pleasant surprise, and while seemingly a lesser installment Forza's a quality series. Then we have Titanfall and D4 next year and most of the same third party games, it's perfectly logical to go for the XB1 even if Microsoft put me off almost entirely and Ryse specifically looks to be a beautiful disaster.

Thing is, he isn't leaking news that doesn't have the context or proof to be substantial, but he has recent info that is indeed substantial. And once again this thread is based on a private message.

You know, if you'd pay attention to his posts you'd realize that multiple times he has said that due to the increased value proposition with PS+ it actually isn't just the multiplayer that justifies it.
Because, as we all can agree I'm sure, PS+ offers a very significantly increased value for most consumers with all those free games, compared to xbox live. That was the brunt of his point.
I'm not doubting cboat by any means. But why PM - and to random persons?

Yeah no shit right? Not to mention Ive made back more on PS+ in a year than all of my years using Xbox Live. Makes me kick myself in the ass why did I even pay for Live back then.

Getting PM's from well known sources or personalities within the videogame industry isn't odd at all. Cboat has his/her supporters and he/she probably appreciates the support they get.
for the record PS+ has a value that goes WAY beyond access to multiplayer...ive been paying for PS+ since the day it was available to sign up for and the value is off the charts...ive also got YEARS of XBL banked that will likely go to waste over the course of the next year since im not getting an Xbone at launch...
but strictly on a value for the dollar XBL doesn't even approach PS+....there is just no way to spin that...
